Not Mississippi! I remember watching El Dorado where it was kind of comical when he shot the shotgun and hit the guy with the massive spread, but to add insult ended up knocking a sign into the guy too. Such a good movie.

There were a couple of movies like that from the 70s that blew my mind.   Star Wars was great but it didn't really make you think.

Rollerball
Soylent Green
Silent Running
Westworld

were great 70's think flicks.

Now everything is a comic book.
