Understandable outrage from the U.S. but are we going to give into the terrorists by ceasing trade, play, life?
-
The net is so shoddy on the East Coast because of all the communications going on that it would be impossible for this part of the country to fly until late, late, late tonite.
Either way, I have no desire to play anything for several hours.

understood SW.
I'm torn myself.. between mourning for the victims and not giving into terrorism.
I'm sure the terrorists would love to know how much disruption they have created and I hate to be a part of that.
Although, my mood presently is a dark one.
-
An Idea that has been floating around is that we should ALL fly but not participate in a combat role. Just all fly and reflect on the lives that where lost today and the families that are suffering
-
Betown<< I dont have an account or I would be there. For some reason, I dont feel like even simulated death :(
-
No I won't fly today, I've seen enough of death & destruction. It sickens my very soul.
-
I know for certain that I will not fly today.

The objective/mission has been accomplished. The Trade Center is destroyed, the stock market is down, all flights are cancelleled etc...
The world will not be the same, may God have mercy on us all. I'm not saying this is the end of the world, I am saying that this is one of those events that impacts the way we will live our lives in the future.
My prayers to all who have died :(

I have absolutely NO desire to fly and "kill" in any of the arenas right now..........America has just reached a crossroads, and we need to think long and hard about which path we will take. That seems more important to me today than anything else.
-
If you listened to the presidents speech, he urged everyone to do their part and move on with life.
Not to forget but to move on and not give these terrorists what they desired: disruption, chaos, etc.
To show the world that our spirit is NOT broken !
-
Carry on essential services, of course. Keep the factory's & the mills in america rolling, undoubtedly. Stand together and show the world that you can not defeat us that easily?
Resoundingly YES.
Play a game that features flying, death & destruction when I've seen entirely too much of that already this day. No, I can find better uses for my time.

Yeah after seeing that on TV I don't want to play flight sims. Just because the murder weapon was a plane.
Now Rogue Spear / Rainbow Six THAT is a game I could get into tonight.
-
I'll be spending that time with my family.

Ditto, and I can't honestly say when I'll fly again...this has had such a great impact, its going to be difficult to find a mood where it will be 'fun' to fly again.

I flew late last night with a squaddie. I wasn't sure if I really wanted to or not. After 2 sorties we logged off both feeling the best we had felt all day. We had time to relax abit and put our minds on other things.

in short : NO
and neither tomorrow
-
too bad. You guys missed out on a great time.
Comraderie, even in the form of a computer game, is a great thing.
-
I logged on today, absolutely not wanting to get into a fight, and I took of from a base far away from the enemy. During flight I talked to some people who were doing just the same thing. When I started feeling better from the things other people said, a bandit had snug up on my six and gunned me down, me not having a chance. The symbolism struck me.

I agree, I am going to give blood at the Red Cross.

Fly and even engage in AH if you want to. I hope no one looks badly on anyone that chooses to. We all deal with tragedies in our own ways. Some can accept and move on faster than others, and some just can lose themselves in games, regardless of the symbolism involved.
Personally, I didn't feel like playing any games yesterday, I just popped in some anime and lost myself in that after listening to Bush speak last night. As soon as the anime was over, the thoughts of the day's events overwhelmed me again. It was good to escape it for 90 minutes or so...
-
AH is a game.Games let you escape from reality for an hour or two. There's no shame in playing a game to take a break from the worlds events.
-
Everyone has their own individual way of escaping whats going on around them for awhile. I guess if I didn't have my family, I'd be on more often these last two days. For me its extra walks these last two days with my boys out in the woods talking about everything from grasshoppers to race cars. :)

oh brother....it's a silly video game!
enough with the weepy symbolism - real things are gonna come to those who did this and then we will have real justice.
not playing a video game is hardly a fitting tribute to the loss of our citizens. living, with resolve in your heart, no matter what you're doing, is.
grieving is expected but i'm not going to stop living - that just makes the bastards winners.
