Beginning of the year, always had a sore neck. At the end of the year, neck/head was at an angle.

Are they using the Hines device to restrain the neck like in most car racing?
The F1 car drivers do all sorts of neck strengthening exersizes, doing 5+ g’s in the corners has to take it’s toll.
There’s been talk of using some type of G suit as some drivers have experienced grey outs.

We did, depending on how tight the turn, some crazy Gs.
Some drivers, especially the GP drivers, use neck restraints. That is for for/aft head movement not side movement.

The GP drivers have a strap on both sides of the helmet that limits some of the side to side movement. It attaches the helmet to the device then the harness shoulder straps hold the device in place. Yes they still have some movement as they need to use those tiny mirrors but it doesn’t allow full movement side to side.
The bounce that some of the cars have this year is being monitored and if it exceeds certain G limits it’s going to be deemed unsafe.
