Not sure I would be signing up if the website still stated April info..

Just pointing out the obvious
My website admin days are long gone
Can't be good for new business
Sorry I care but with over 22 years of investing in this game I feel I have the right to point it out..

You'd think after the last time HT called you out you'd have a bit more respect:
https://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/index.php/topic,403226.msg5341522.html#msg5341522
But I get it - easier to complain and do nothing.

Sorry I seem to hit a sore spot
Do you think having a website so far out of date helps subscriptions?
I am very selfish and just want the game to be around as long as possible
If it's your volunteer actions that keep it updated I appreciate that but it needs an update imo

Yup... I have been paying over 20 years non-stop. Really not sure why I keep going now.
Seems even the volunteers are getting up tight about the situation. This place only lives because of volunteers.

You've really started to lose rational perspective.
Eagler is a customer. Why exactly is it his obligation to do HTC's work for them? Is HTC paying him? Or is he paying HTC?
I have a Netflix subscription. Never once have they told me that if I want the website kept up to date I need to do it myself. They just sorta handle that to keep my subscription.
Or has AH been open sourced?

The better question is how bad is it? You're talking about allocating limited resources. What's the overall best use?
How many minor issues can we post that may not really make a difference?
How does your complaint on the forum look to new players? How likely it it that your post does more good than harm?
What is your actual goal here?
-
To keep the game I love to play around as long as possible with as many subs as possible
Do you think the website being months behind helps or hurts subscriptions?
Sorry I mentioned it as it seems to be a sore spot for some
Trying to make me out as the bad guy here seems ridiculous ... just update the site please as it doesn't mention any of the upcoming events
Or band me from the bbs so I can't point this out...

I'm with Eagler on this. Appearances have an impact - even returning vets who may be tempted to re-sub might be put off by this lack of activity.
(I love seeing my name stuck on the front page, tho' - but it's time for my glory to fade!)(March KOTH announcement.)
If it's too much work to update occasionally with new content, then strip out the dated material and replace with neutral content?
And of course, thanks to the volunteers (?) who have been doing a variety of event related things, including the website it seems. Your time and efforts are much appreciated.

How is this helping? Do you think HTC is unaware of the state of the webpage? I'm not attacking you, these are real questions.
-
What’s up with the web page?
Looks alright to me
No bending the knee instructions on there for you?

So not mentioning and just ignoring it is better?
I was letting the thread drop out of sight but you keep bringing it back to the top
Maybe you want it corrected too..?
I just say what others are thinking...just ask the wife :)

I regularly recommend AH to young folks who think war thunder is the best simulation our there. Not only e single time has anyone had a single good thing to say a out AH. Subscription based games are a thing of the past, the graphics are state of the ARK and according to steam there is less than 15 active players. AH is done for if Hitech doesn't sell it for a fair price. Buying AH is like buying a boat from the bottom of the pacific ocean.
-
so quit and post there. nobody has a gun to your head.
I was a war thunder beta tester. 3 flights is all it took for me.

Didn't you post a tearful goodbye a few weeks ago?

You sold your gear and announced that you're leaving the game. Nobody cares what you think about anything.

No he did not.
You should not pick on people

You didn't answer either question.
I see what your saying, but some players have a passion for this game and seeing something that would take tops an hour to fix COULD be chasing away potential new players, and it frustrates them. This is the only place they can post those frustrations, or maybe they could do it on Facebook/instagram/twitter where there is surely a much wider audience.
Hitech is busy with personal/professional issues, I get that. However unless he plans on just letting this game continue to slowly die off he has to do something to at least make it look like the game is still maintained to the market. These small updates would show that even if it isnt doing anything to the game itself, it may look more active to in coming players. After all, the main site IS where players come to check out "that game someone told them about". Whats an hour a week to potentially bringing in a player or two a month?
-
I think we all have a passion for the game. I've been helping people here longer than some players have been alive. I think it's useful to ask yourself, when you are frustrated that some aspect of the game isn't perfect and could be improved, if your gripe is effectively helping or if you're just displaying your feelings in a way that puts potential players off the game.
-
i think there is a middle ground to be reached. It's obvious that the passion for updating the game / site has died off. That's not atypical of people who have made their wad and just want to enjoy life. I will grant you that new ownership 'might' have some benefits as i believe the core of the game is still the best out there and, frankly, the only game I've ever gotten outright passionate about. Trust me guys this last what is it 10 years now? have been a wretch not being able to gear up and hang with the fellas.
But instead of griping about the shortcomings I think it's best to present the positives when they can be found.
I have to be honest I truly believe that something is coming in 2023 be it a change of ownership and investment in it's future or a renewed passion for making it continue to be the best online flight sim available. I may be delusional but I can dream I suppose.
Frankly I am chomping at the bit to get my rig and gear here. I have even warned work that I will probably take a couple of long weekends in August so I can get everything just right.
Then you guys will have the easiest target ever to shoot down.. again :D

You're ignoring the difference in subscriber numbers with the subsequent staff reduction and implying Hitech doesn't care. I don't believe that's correct.
-
I'm just going by what I read on the sub man. Consumer perspective is a real thing in the business world.
-
Allocation of limited resources is also a real thing in the business world.
-
I think it would be neat to have a live feed of the main arena map on the front page. And 200 radio channel chat and audio. Maybe even allow users to chat right from the front page.
it would make the place seem alive.
Maybe take the scenario section off the front page if it's not able to be kept current. It's kind of a red flag that maybe not much is going on. The live map and radio channel might be neat.
And live-stream feeds from players would be really cool. That people could select right from the front page.
-
Broadcasting 200 chatter on the website would be a very bad idea. :(
-
How so?
If Channel 200 is too bad for the website then why have it in the game? Why hide it?
It's a huge part of the game and it shows the social interaction that makes the game come alive. It would be a great thing.
-
Because players tend to act immature on 200. It wouldn't be a good sell.
-
Well that's the game and you're wrong.
You probably haven't played in 15 years anyway. You're just a busybody freeloader.
It would be a big sell. People would want to join in.

Thanks for the balanced discussion without making up stuff. :)
-
If any channel should be on main page it should be Channel 1 All. And seeing that it was disabled, and the reasons why, is a good sign that broadcasting 200 would not be a good idea.
You assume 200 is a big part of the game, and probably is for you, but mostly relates to my signature.
-
I would guess that most people who play do tune to 200.
But having a radio channel broadcast, the live map and links to player's live feeds would be great.

I hate war thunder. I think you missed the point. I pointed out the reasons the next generation of aviation game enthusiasts think that AH is ghey.

The point of my post you are replying to went completely over your head as well as semps. Just pointing out what the next Gen of potential players are saying about this game. Although I'm burnt out on it I am still actively recommending it to young folks all around. You GINA are a complete wackjob. You are a complete crackpot and people only entertain you because you are the equivalent of the circus coming to town. Sorry that it bugs you for me to point out OTHER people's valud complaints about this wonderful but completely unappealing game. You should back off of these forums and start posting all you wacky unrelated topics on other forums that better cater to roadside attractions like you.

Semp you should actively be promoting this game. You understand that very minimal effort at quite low risk could made a difference in this game right now? All I'm saying is that people out side of AH that would love it if they tried it see absolutely no appeal because it is incredibly expensive, outdated and has bare minimum numbers. Personally, it's not expensive too me. But I will not pay for anything that is not having a portion of my money re invested. This game is dead and nobody is doing anything about it. Therefor I no longer play. But I still actively recommend to 10+ people a day. 10 out of 10 people say the same things.

Doing much more than you. Gladly. I have played AH with periodic breaks since I was 6 Years old. Never lost the love for it. Anyways not arguing any longer with such an openly confused dimwit like you.

Just pointing out that you said you were out - and would see the lucky one's in the non-virtual world, but here you are. Complaining about the game still.
just trying to figure you out. You're all over the place with your emotions. Kinda nutty

This game passes time for me. I've finally adapted to the current circumstances and the current player base, trying to (in a manner of speaking) squelch some disappointments I see. There are still remnants of old times that keep me from getting too bored here. Hope it rebounds- especially the kind of like-minded, patient player base that attracted me to it 20 years ago, but also it's understandable that life for them and for its creator goes on. Come what may, I guess.
