Title: Personal milestone
Post by: decoy on July 31, 2022, 06:02:09 AM
So, this is bragging on my part, but nobody else will toot my horn, so I have to.

I published my first book in July of 2012.  It took it a year to break even, and trust me when I say that it's rare indeed for a first novel to actually make money, especially an indie author like me.

This past week I sold the 5000th copy of one of my books.  That's a 500/year average, and trust me when I say I didn't sell 500 copies of my first book.  So I'm really pleased with myself.  And if, someday, I'm a big time writer and they're making movies out of my books, y'all can all say, "Hey, I used to play AH with him.  He's a (great guy)(huge jerk).  Just insert the one think is most appropriate.

Now, back to your regularly scheduled discussions.....

This particular sale was of a book I published in 2017, Born Again Crazy.  It has been one of my better performers, though consistently sells.

For a look at all my books, go to my website www.claymercer.com (http://www.claymercer.com) and follow the 'Clay's books' link at the top of the page.
