Been a whole lot of talkin goin on about Dale needs to do this, Dale needs to do that. New aircraft and update the game
I was browsing the Oculus app for this new WW2 pacific game when I came across a game called
War Online: Pacific
Which is made by Hitech Creations and was released in 2019. What was really interesting is that you can touch the controls inside the cockpit.
And it is FREE.99

Well, I do wish Dale would take off a couple of maps like CraterMA and Buzzkill. Or atleast switch the rotation of maps. Last week, we had Buzzkill on for 3 days going into Friday night. Only 80 players max on Friday evening. Then, the next map is CraterMA, it stays up all weekend for 4 days. I saw maybe 70 players logged in the entire time when I got to play. Not sure how many total logged during primetime, but I recon maybe 85. When I logged, there were no fights on the map, planes spread out all over the place and I'd have to fly 25 miles just to fight a couple of red guys who would probably end up ganging me anyway or running and not re-upping. It's so obvious to me when I see low #s that is mainly due to the map and fights on that map. When these maps come on weekends and we don't even break 100, that's when I know people don't like to play on these maps because there isn't big action.
Now, with the other game, IMO, I wish they had worked more on AH than spent putting this other game together. Or made this game an offshoot of AH like H2H use to be. Atleast it would have kept players in AH. I always saw it as a trainer style flight arcade for younger players to learn air combat. It is a sorta smaller combat situation than AH with more stall controls. Atleast from what I've heard. The thing about it is, most players who fly AH aren't going to switch to that, and players who tried it are probably off playing WT instead. There are still things like the tempest cockpit in AH that need updating. There are still things to work out in AH. I feel that HTC spent a lot of time trying to make Match Play into this big thing, when it just made it more convoluted and harder than what it should have been.some of the concepts like airspawns and quick duel spawns are cool. But why not just have that, remove the AI, add some directions and bring back the furball area without the AI. Remove all of the scoring crap and just open it for free combat. That could have basically been the entire new game that was made. Just sometimes I feel like things were made more complicated than they should have been, and with the new game, it took attention of AH and on the new game, which isn't really what a lot of AH players were expecting. I think it all should have just stayed in AH as a separate module of the game that was FTP, and it would have encouraged those players to try the MA one day. Just my thoughts on this.

This game is dead. Some of you old timers refuse to accept it.
I would even put money on new players vs players that have passed away are not in your favor.

I want my $3,588 back. :furious

Hey Peanut, remember last Oct after I had first returned after years' of absence? And how loud on ch200 I was? And how we got into some weewee measuring because you (and others) had no real clue or recollection about who I am? :old:
Yeah, that. Do you remember claiming that I would never beat your (specifically ftr) rank? I do. I even kept a screen shot of your stats that month. :noid

I didn't feel the need to accept that challenge for a reason... :neener:

Feel free to come back and try and beat my fighter rank. I earned mine under much more challenging conditions than you.
lol. :ahand

Blast from the past there with those names!

No kidding... and there are even still a few oldie-oldsters still kickin' in the game.
AH is like Hotel California, you might check out, but you can never leave.

The whiners saying the game is dead for the last 5 years need a place to throw crap on the wall. Eventually it will stick and they will be self fulfilled geniuses in their own minds. In the mean time try not step in their BS.

Your the only one who cares about it. Aren't you so proud?

Looks like you do, so that's a win for me.

Everything was correct, except this... It's no longer a target rich environment. Kills per hour is especially challenging in the Euro time Zones. :old:

I see what you're saying, but bear in mind the competition was much more intense in that density and I wasn't even a furballer or vulcher. :joystick: :airplane:
Personally I think scores are... meh...but Peanut made it a point, so there's that. :neener:
Plus I challenged him to come back and beat my #15 (instead of whinging on the bbs.) :aok

Could care less what you do. You're into yourself enough for all of us though that is for sure.
-
Of course I am, I know who I am. Who exactly are you? Just some window licker.

Hijacker with insults, you are so original.

Peanut happened to post here, so figured it was an appropriate place... trash post with trash post. :aok
It's awesome to see you two w(h)inging here on the forums. :cry :airplane: :rofl
I love new squeak toys, and you have such a purty squeakhole.

Game isnt dead, it just hasnt grown at all. It is just a game after all that requires people to participate in order to reach its full potential. Those of us who remain the game has become a part of our routine for years.... for some decades. We never got the flood of players we had hoped for when AH3 dropped. We never got the player retention that we desperately needed. All of it is what it is.

The whole purpose of this post was to make those on here aware of another version of the game out there.
I have even heard of a Canadian version that you can play online for free.
-
Did you just browse the Oculus games? I think I recall hearing something about this game but it's been awhile.
-

True! And that is an admirable purpose.
Unhappily, there's a handful of people who get some sort of pleasure from proclaiming that the game is dying or dead. I don't understand why it pleases them, but it must, and they've always been out there. So good threads get dragged down into the dark.

Two nights when I signed on recently, there was a good fight going on at one base. I was not able to stay long but it was fun while I was there.
-
After all these years, I still have a blast in this game. I don't have near as much time to play it as I'd like, but I'm still on for a few hours several times a week.
-
I pay 15 bucks so I can login everyday, once a week, once a month who cares .. 15 bucks is nothing these days, usually enjoy my times in the MA if not ' click
personally glad the game is still around so one can jump in whenever, have tried WT with the gamey external views and mouse control, no thanks,
the sim version is ok.. but the targets are few in my experience along with other annoying factors, DCS is awesome but seems more like work to me, hope Hitech still
wants to keep this going and put some more into it, if he has the will, maybe he's done, maybe indifferent <shrug> its is his game and Its evident he built it with a
passion, we all are getting older, things change. I say enjoy it while it is still going, the glass half empty people are everywhere look at them, they bring balance to
the glass.
