How come my name was listed in the top kills list last night but now is gone?
I don't get my name in lights often, so this is kinda disappointing. It's the second time that due to a tie my name disappears.

Just wish The Purple Hearts would have bombed the actual target in hour one and not porked the fighter hangars at the hour 2 Axis airfield.

There is no reason I can think of that would magically remove your name from the top 7 if you saw it there. The logs didn’t change and were only posted once. If you are talking about having three kills along with other pilots with the same number of kills, the sorting appears to be alphabetical in case of a tie not posting more than seven.

I was in that list. Then I went away. So if that's the case then it appears another player equaled or bested me somewhere in the interim if the log was revised.
Why is the list limited to seven? In case of a tie it should go out to as many numbers as needed. Oh well. I'll just have to shoot down more planes next time. :)

OR you could change your ID to 1Vraciu or AVraciu and in the event of a tie, you will sort higher in the alphanumeric realm. :D

Serious question... What time did you check the logs the first time? It MAY behave that way if you checked during the posting process but I seriously doubt it would allow you to see a partially posted log file.
I, for one, have limited access to look at the HTML coding behind the logs page, no access to the PHP or data base queries going on there. The CM team posts the logs, magic happens, a web page is born... that's about the extent of our involvement.
Oh well. I'll just have to shoot down more planes next time. :)

My name was there the night the log posted. Was gone the following afternoon.

Doesn’t look like the DB query has any sorting deeper than number of kills, i.e not alphabetically for pilots with equal kills. Explains what we’re seeing.

Yup. I ran the logs again and I'm gone again. So it must just randomly cycle people that don't fit in the list that are tied.

Friendly kills don't count! A lot of times that quick first time it's posted is slightly raw and gets tweaked after a bit so things like that get teduced. They do get posted after 1AM after all.

Not the issue here.
I have 3 legit kills. Tied with several others. It appears that the names appearing with a tie that causes an exceedance of 7 total names causes some randomization for which ones get displayed. Mine shows up about every third query of the logs.
