Fighter kills by hour is the most impressive stat there imo

In aug 06 my guess is his kills would be much higher as there would be a very noticeable increase in targets
Possibly, yes. But he would have faced much stiffer opposition too. But that's all speculation, I just can transfer scores back in time, not players ;)
It just shows, how much the combat environment in AH has changed over the years. Fewer targets, longer flights (avg fighter mode sortier duration was 8 minutes in summer 2006, now it's 10), fewer opportunities for multi-kill sorties, much more difficult to get any success in handicapped rides like Hurri I or I16 due to much 'faster' combats, and so on.
You can see the death knell of value-of-entertainment in that score board. One of those top scoring players has deficient ACM but compensates for that with highly risk-averse gameplay. Yes very realistic if your life and a greater conflict are the stakes. For entertainment, not so much.
Also, players have quite diverging opinions about what's "entertaining" and what is not ;)
That is a fair point but individual opinions are not the focus when discussiing an entertainment based on interaction?
I'm sure with the amount of kills he has in that thing, more than a few players have been turned off from the game by it.
I thought it implicit that entertainment needed to require a bit of 'win' on both sides (if not necessarily 50-50), not just sitting on a perch or patrolling at alt looking for easy kills when others are disadvantaged be it through engagement or otherwise. I'd rather describe that as an asymetrical exploitation.
Anyone who plays hours like that will get very good at gunnery (higher percentage of trigger time) and risk-assessment. I don't consider him a very good pilot. A good accountant maybe.
This game has a lot of accountants.
Well... I am a Controller/Accountant :D
Not when you fly. You're a poker-player. :salute
Accounting is logical, poker is rational. You can only be one :old:
