I am highly intelligent, likable and extremely talented. I also have a lot of compassion for people.
But today was almost too much for me. I went to McDonald's and ordered a sausage McMuffin combination. As I was leaving I pulled into the bag and all of the contents were out of their containers just lying in the bag.
To top it all off, the sausage egg McMuffin turn out to be a ham McMuffin. I cannot stand ham. I wouldn't feed ham to my dead dog.
So I peeled the ham off of the sandwich and struggled through eating it. Even a little bit of the ham taste was still there and almost made me gag.
But today's Friday and the weekend is upon us. I'm going to use my extreme talents this weekend.
How's your Friday going?

I was gonna get onboard for this story until I came to the ham hating part... That's when I realized you were bored and trolling for personal attacks because verbal abuse tickles your funny parts.
That's my analysis.
-
I always look inside the bag as it's given to me. every once in a while I find a missing item and point it out.
btw don't you know that hamburgers is the cornerstone of every nutritious breakfast.

For real...I take a quick peek, if items are there, drive away. If they aren't, run inside quick and have them sort it out. Should not be difficult for any adult to do.

Adult?

Remember when you were a kid on a trip to the beach and stopped at McDonald’s for a hotcakes and sausage breakfast and found the styrofoam container melted under the sausage patty?
Did you feel poisoned when you ate it?

Adult?
I even have a certificate to prove it.

Don't need 'em around here. We just grew up and it was evident. :aok

Fast food workers earn every penny they make. What a horrible job.

Plus Gogo.... You have to tolerate me. I'm a baby boomer.
I forgot to mention that I look especially hot today. Cool my hair put a little makeup on it and I'm wearing a cool black T-shirt. I mean I really look dynomite!

Yeah, it used to be mostly students still living at home who would work these jobs, but for some reason millennials have chosen to make fast food their career instead of taking higher paying jobs ...
-
I know what you mean Geeg, it's the SAME thing as when some idjit puts a PICKLE on my sammich. Utterly pollutes the whole thing. (And that's AFTER they invariably put the french fry container in the bag upside down

that's the biggest lie right there. students had to go to school and you had to get a work permit and c average. no permit no work. and you couldn't work during school hours. and during the school week you were limited to 4 hours and couldn't work past 8 pm. weekend you could do 8 and up to 10 if over 16. you had to stop at 10 Sundays at 8. and you could only work 5 days a week.
but I never saw any fast food closed in the mornings because students couldn't work.

When a service tech for Tired Rundown and Weary in CA once stopped at Jack-in-the-Box and I forgot what sammich I ordered but it came with an iron supplement. There was a nut grilled or fried to the meat portion of the sammich.

Not a lie at all. Same with grocery baggers. These are entry level jobs, not meant to be career positions. The only reason I could see anyone much older than a teenager working one would be because it is a second job that fits their schedule, or possibly because of a disability. There are far too many jobs paying much more and require little to no experience.

Actually, I'm just refusing to get pulled into the weeds on this one as EVERYONE knows that these jobs were traditionally done by mostly teenagers. That has begun to change over the last 10 years was my point.

Lots has changed in the economic landscape in the last 10-15 years. This is just one piece to that puzzle.

You tell me. There are $20.+ /hr. start jobs everywhere for the unskilled, yet you see 20 and 30 somethings everywhere settling for the type jobs mentioned above. One guess would be motivation. When mom still washes your clothes, a 40 hr. work week becomes less of a priority.

I watched a 20 something at a register in the gas station unable to do simple math like calculate change from a dollar. He had to use his fingers and still couldnt figure it out because he messed up when trying to calculate the total of the purchase on the register. Had to use a calculator to do it for him.

I can't count from 1 to 10 in English, I have to do it in my native language.

Fast food places (and pizza chains too for that matter) have gone to crap in the last 20 years. I mean they were never fantastic, don't get me wrong, but in the last 20 years armies of Harvard MBAs came in and cheaped out on everything. Wendys is prime example... they used to have good burgers circa late 90s, now they're horrific.
Pizza Hut is another example - remember when they had good pan pizzas that came out in a big black metal pan ?
Anyways, like anything else, it's always a race to the bottom.

WalMart, and Sam's both sell Jimmy Dean's Sausage, Egg, and Cheese Muffins. So, you can avoid Micky Dee's altogether.

Prove me wrong, one liner talking points king. Mom still iron your pants before meeting with your unemployment officer? Wait, we don't have those guys anymore ...

If you REALLY want to watch a meltdown give them a $5, 2 dimes and a penny for a $1.06 item

That would be me. I freeze up when counting change or doing simple math. I've been that way since I was a kid. I was good at math in school too. My brain just has a mental block for that simple thing.

around here we still have a shortage of coins. so if you don't have exact change you get 4 bucks back. if you are a long time customer then it would only be 1 buck.

As a retail manager... I instruct ALL newbies to NOT fall for the "THEY CAN'T COUNT CHANGE!!1!" scam. We don't pay them to do math. We pay them to put the correct sku into the cash register, input the correct payment methods/quantity, and give the change that the computer tells them to give. Oh.. And, up sell. While you're finding around trying to make the cannot look silly, your buddy is stuffing the candy track into their backpack. Dealing with the public is difficult enough. Why would you want to make a crappy job even crappier??

Leave it to this guy to find and exploit the "change loophole". Do you ever have a moment of clarity where the shame is unbearable?

oh man don't get jealous. pretty sure you feel embarrassed for 6 cents. I don't, been going to that 711 for 20 years. been friends with the manager since he was a kid. his father owns the store.
but I didn't know there was a chance loophole. most of places around here found up to next dollar.

You KNOW there's a "change shortage". You KNOW they'll round up if you're using cash. And yet, you DON'T bring change and don't think you're exploiting a loophole...

lol. Pretty much. Just ham. I love pork chops, pork loin, sausage, bacon. Just ham. Cannot stomach ham. Deli ham, like the cold deli stuff I can eat - but not ham roast, or Canadian bacon kind of ham.
Maybe I was assaulted by a ham in my youth.

Ham is pork. Evidently you do not like it smoked. Back when I was in the meat business, I can't tell you how many times I had women complain about a fresh ham tasting like plain porn. Well.... that is exactly what it is. They associate the smoke flavor with ham. LOL

I can't explain it but it's strange to me. I literally will gag if I taste that kind of ham. It doesn't have to be smoked.
-
As for giving back change, you start by giving change starting with $.01, then $.05, then $.10, then $.25, then $1.00, the $5.00, or even $10.00 and $20.00 to the cost of the item til it adds up to what the customer gave you.
