I do not understand. Neither one of your posts makes any sense. What law would Tesla be breaking?
A truck made in TX that will be sold in the US market is not breaking any laws.

The battery (4680 cell) will also be made in TX. All other battery cells are inferior to this new cell. The Semi will not use cells from BYD nor from CATL. Tesla makes their own batteries with a joint venture with Panasonic and buys from other suppliers to keep up with demand for their cars.

Watch the first video. I have the feeling you did not watch it. Tesla purchased  a company called Maxwell several years ago. Maxwell has the patents on the 4680 cell.

well since you don't understand me, why not goggle it like I suggested.

like I said it's a pretty interesting story and funny at the same time. you can live next to the plant but texas law doesn't allow Tesla to sell you a car directly. so Tesla gets creative. now if you live in Alabama I wouldn't buy one at all.

We are talking about the semi.

TX has a strong dealer lobby and does not allow direct sales so the Teslas you see in TX were purchased in another nearby state. No law was broken.

I suggest you provide a link from a reliable source. A have no clue what law you are talking about.

You can post any point of view in this forum. Nothing wrong with that.

I am not aware of TX prosecuting Tesla for anything. Tesla is going to provide TX with lots of good paying jobs. Their factory is near several universities so there will be young engineers available to work for Tesla.

But battery operated trucks are un-natural and open the door for maximum Overdrive to be a thing......

and possibly put me out of a job if they go driverless.....  :bhead

When you add the weight of the required batteries what does that do to the average load you could pull and thus your profit?

Going driverless as they think it will be cheaper....

Let's see if it is after the lawsuits from them that you know are coming after the horrific pileups they are in the middle of...

Saw a ford lightning driver complain of its lack of adequate towing capabilities but most pickup drivers haul nothing more than groceries or children...so they still sell to soccer moms..semis are a different story though

EV rigs will be able to run over the legal limit. Which means the roads will just take the abuse.

I believe I read where they are allowed to weigh somewhere just over a ton more.... something like 2300 lbs.

Because they will save the earth, they are allowed to exceed the 80k lbs restrictions, and as previously mentioned, will beat up roads quicker.  Maybe Milo can start a thread about where asphalt comes from…

then if that's the case,, let's ban suvs, after all there's more of them on the roads.

 :headscratch:

Are there SUVs that exceed the weight our roads are intended to withstand?
