Title: Thank you HTC
Post by: mERv on October 17, 2022, 10:24:28 PM
Thank you for approving this map and allowing the community enough time to enjoy it. There are a few bugs to work out but overall it has been a success and nice change to the routine. <S>

Kenai did great with this map. He listened to others as he posted update, Obie being the one most invovled, which in the end seems to have made a great experience for all.

It also goes to show that if the map is liked running in strait reset after reset for a week or two works ok too.

Maybe a voters poll to pick the "best maps" and Hitech could set the top 5 to run for a few days strait reset after reset so those of us who dont have all days and nights free to fly could get into these other maps.

Why not a vote for the next map when the 5 minute end of war warning pops up?

Maybe a list of the map names in the clip board and vote for the next map with a .vote (map name)
A GUI map voting system in the clipboard might be more time to code than its worth, by making it a command line could be implemented with less programming right?

...er because to enable voting requires development...

Just a list of the maps that received the least criticism here would be a great starting point..

The list would only have to have a half dozen best maps for most to be happy

Id be happy if Hitech ran a poll on the note pad as you log into the arena. Everyone gets a vote to pick their favorite map. Hitech  runs with the top 5 maps and pulls the others from the list.

Have Furball Friday, a single map with 3 bases, an airspawn at 15k. Pick your aircraft, spawn in, furball until you die, then repeat

This cannot possibly be that hard to do.

I cannot remember the limit to player created arenas, but I would support this if someone set it up and did it properly.

The only downside is I don't think scores can be tracked, and some people are into that.

They have Monday Night Madness every week in Sea2 starting at 8PM EST

https://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/index.php/topic,406240.msg5381035.html#msg5381035

They post logs, but not scores Under the "Sanp Shot Events" on the events page.

http://ahevents.net/index.php/event-logs

This past week they had 16 pilots participate. It sounds like a "Furball" Blast, I just have a hard time getting on on Mondays to join in.

MNM is the closest regular setup that offers anything close to that kind of furballing

It's a blast imo and only needs about a dozen, 6 a side for some great times .. but even just a couple a side is fun as the arena is very small

Can't imagine that room with a dozen a side

No base capture,  no gv's,  no hoing!

Only a2a with shorter icons, fog, buildings and 4k alt cap

Starts at 8pm est every Monday...give it a go!

Custom Arenas are limited to 16 players I believe.
