Post by: Grendel on September 05, 2001, 02:17:00 AM
I stumbled to a discussion about "FInnish Mosquito" in Finnish Air Force in World War II - Discussion Forum at http://network54.com/Hide/Forum/46825. (http://network54.com/Hide/Forum/46825.)

Now check THIS out:

Finnish Mosquito....a "What if"

Fast Google search and...

VL Vihuri, Finnish copy of Mosquito equipped with Daimler-Benz engines. Aerodynamically similar, structurically different, using mix of recycled German and Russian equipment.

Wow!

And those other planes in http://www.kolumbus.fi/jik/lekot.htm (http://www.kolumbus.fi/jik/lekot.htm)  ain't too sissy either:

Estonian Spitfire, 12 ordered, none delivered before Soviet Union annexed Estonia:

Nice!

or Bristol Bulldog fighter with 20 mm cannon? FAF had actually ordered some cannons, most likely for test purposes.

Always a surprise waiting behind some corner!

Hmmmmm. Found this site:

"Finnish Air Force - Almost In Service"

Very informative and interesting. IMHO.

Ok who finds this plane and knows what it was? ;-) (Finns, shoo)

Actually that is a Finnish copy of Messerchmitt 109 G. More streamlined, more wood, same engine. Slightly slower, more agile.

Called "Pyörremyrsky".
