Most of you know that I've flow under the callsigns: HazMatt, Ratbstrd and Yardude.
I love this game and I love you people. Even Vraciu and Shane. I'm gonna miss you guys.
Tonight on 11/6 at about 1840 CST there was a discussion about the future of the game. A "mod" had just warned me about non-game topics. As if non-game discussions never happen on 200. After that the comments moved on to the future of the game. I commented that the mods would be left muting each other and that got me a 120 min mute. I couldn't even type on country channel or transmit to somebody with an enemy on their 6. To me this is a gross use of power. I know Dale doesn't give a sheet as he says any "mods" decisions are unquestionable. It was enough to push me out after over 20 years.
I am really upset about this because my kids are now getting old enough that they can shoot down drones offline and I was going to buy them accounts so we could play together. However this "mod" overstepped his bounds in my opinion to the point that I will never play this game together with my kids I'm sad to say. I know a bunch of you will defend the "mods' no matter what they do. It is however something to think about that this 120 min mute lost me, (who paid thousands of dollars to play this game of the years) and my kids who will never play this game together with me online.
I wish you all the best in the future and I have enjoyed the time I have spent here. I'm guessing my future might be DCS or WW2online or something else. I'm not sure yet and I have until Dec 1 until my sub runs out so I will be around for a bit.
I suspect the "mods" will continue to run off people until this game goes the way of warbirds.
To whoever the "mod" was. Maybe you should think about the long term affects before imposing a 2 hour mute on somebody that said something that "triggered" you.

Moderation of 200 without full and complete follow through throughout the week is quite frankly disrespectful to this community. What about all the times individuals are disrespected and nothing happens? Then when something childish like this happens a 2 hrs ban? Ridiculous you can't power grab for that window your on.... it costs you players

It sounds like you knew what the consequences would be and decided to F around and find out anyway. I wouldn't think about it as the mods 'overstepping' but the mods trying to curb what is an inevitable harmful subject for the game and HTC from happening.
I think throwing away 20 years of fun for 2 hours is illogical, but that's just me.

I'll always know you as Ratbstrd. I feel ya on this, I've had problems with mods, although not here, since I avoid CH 200 entirely. Hate to see ya go, guess I wouldn't be able to change your mind either way, but it's been an absolute blast flying alongside and against you. <S> :salute

Throwing away the fun you have had, and the fun you were looking forward to with your kids over a 2 hour mute is foolish, but hey, its your decision.

I'm very rarely in 200 because of its sewerish contents. Insults flying freely back and worth without any consequences. In that light, it's clear a mod took peas in nostrils and considered your sentence as a personal attack. What is ridiculous, especially compared what many individual pilots are receiving in 200 and taking in the account no names were mentioned.
Probably this opinion is already worth of warning, ban or something else.

I mean personally, sometimes if I'm having a rough day I'll just mute my radio and pedal to the metal for dogfights. If you and your kids would like to duel me in the Match Play arena I'm more than willing to do so, that's what I play Aces High for, the hard duels.

You will have way more fun in DCS. Especially if you like Helicopters.

More should do what I do most of the time....pop in a good music cd, crank it up and use your check 6 button and <S> keys exclusively for comms.
I don't hear much else that way...

It has been mentioned it wasn't the what you said as much as it was the clapback to whomever the mod was. The fact it was 2hrs was somewhat surprising since the same could have been accomplished with a lesser penalty box timeout, imho - unless you were warned more than once in all that. <shrug>
Meh, many have been muted, some even unfairly, but it has always been what it was. I was vox populi'd for an 8 day chat ban by a bunch of collaborative weaksaucers. I could have called HT and probably got it lifted, but considering the state of game support these days, it would have been more of a hassle to HT and myself than it would have been worth - same reason why I haven't bothered trying to reclaim "Shane."

Popped by the forum to see how things are. Not surprised in the least by this, obviously saddened.
I would add that the support staff are unable to take any criticism of AH, even when players are just giving a point of view and or are trying to help.
It's one of the factors that pushed me away, and no doubt countless others.

Could be the mods experience the 80/20 rule, meaning they spend 80% of their time dealing with the 20% who continually press boundaries. Those blaming the mods for their own behavior is a lame excuse for not getting their way.

Well said! I have never been muted but I have had to mute a few players in the TA. I don’t like to resort to that but when 1 player is ruining the fun of others and won’t listen to the PM I usually send first then that player leaves no choice, I’m sure the mods feel the same way and don’t use the PM route as that would open them to all sorts of abuse.

You will have way more fun in DCS. Especially if you like Helicopters.
Helicopters in DCS are awesomely fun but then again DCS is a blast even with the free player made mods like the A4 ov10 uh60 and t45 to name a few.

I do not use the non DCS mods. I mainly fly in Enigmas cold war server or Tempests Blueflash server as they are both PvP servers. The only bots are the ground targets.
Helo Vs Helo is where it is at for me. Guns N Rockets all day

Hasn't it already? I'm here from time to time just to check the temp. A flight sim game is all about updates, new features, improvements. On the other hand, one single bad judgement by some mod in 20 years? That's for sure is no reason to go IMO. DCS, IL2, that's where things are happening these days, although I would really love to see something happening with this game as well. :bolt:

The Damned has 2 PVE training servers with some PVP (Day and Stormy Night), 2 PVE campaign servers (Syria and Persian Gulf), and a WWII PVE server (Marianas). We haven't gotten that big into PvP yet and most of us hit other servers to fill the need for PVP drama.
On our training servers we have the T45 Trainer, A4E-C, C-130 Hercules, UH-60L, OV-10A Bronco, and the A-29B Super Tucano enabled but you do not need them to play on our servers. All of these free player made mods are pretty solid and fairly accurately modeled. That being wrote, we will not use mods that require another mod or are super top secret aircraft you can't possibly get accurate due to the specs being super classified like the F-22 and F-35.
The Damned squadron in DCS has grown to about 12 regularly active players and several less active players. We still have a few AH players in the game and we have a few guys that dabble in Il2 star citizen and Arma III.
We are considering getting involved in some official DCS competitions like SATAL and a few of us Rotor heads are considering entering Virpils Shadow's Trophy Helicopter competition.

Can't agree. Sometimes you get pushed over the edge. The last straw, etc. There are many many other fun things out there in life, and if a mod makes you want to make a statement I 100% support finding other things to do.
I've had a few mod issues in the past, even though I never use foul language or whatever and avoid politics. They seem capricious and pleased to use their power.
Of the many things that are slowly bringing this game to an end, mod abuse is in the top ten.

If Dale isn't going to grow the game any longer then he should open it up to free play and let folks donate via paypal to keep the servers running, and to buy him food and booze. Its no longer worth subscribing to, and certainly not for 14 bucks a month, the game is stagnated completely (except for skins, which doesn't cost Dale a penny). I mean, I would chip in ten bucks every other year or so..... Just to be able to pop on once every three or four months. Anyway, just a thought.

Again, just tired of the Non players whining about the game. I play at least 2 to 3 hours a day, on average. I really enjoy the game and the other players (with very few exceptions :) ) I just don't appreciate, anyone really, but especially non players trying to run other players off. It just doesn't make sense, and its childish to boot. So take your toys some place else. :bhead

I agree completely with Eagler. If you have been a long time flight sim fan, you absolutely out it to yourself to give VR a try, before you hang it up. It's that good. The step up in immersion and experience is like nothing else.

Crikey, I played my first sortie with TrackIR and wacked two AKs attacking muh bass.
I hope Dale can get AH back up and deliver some more cool planes to fly before he signs off for the last time.
