Title: Bf 109G-14 Nightfighter (Fixing an Incorrect Skin: Part 2)

This skin is a replacement of "2.Erg/JG2" by Klauss on the 109G-6. The aircraft he skinned was a 109G-6/AS which better fits on the AH 109G-14. The way he wrote this designation is also incorrect and makes it appear as though the aircraft he skinned belonged to Jagdgeschwader 2, which it does not. It is probable that he copied it from an incorrect reference. The correct designation for his skin would be 2./EJG 2 (Ergänzungs-Jagdgeschwader 2  - Supplementary Fighter Squadron 2), a unit derived from a supplemental night fighter unit made up of various aircraft types. To alleviate confusion, I will use the designation of the dedicated night fighter unit "2./Ergänzungs-Nachtjagdgruppe", which this aircraft most certainly belonged to before being redesignated "2./Ergänzungs-Jagdgeschwader 2" in November 1944. 

"Green 5" was painted overall in black with white crosses and spiral on the prop spinner. The emblem for 2./Ergänzungs-Nachtjagdgruppe is painted on the cowl. It was photographed originally at Ludwigslust, Germany in November 1944 and again in April 1945 at Gardelegen, Germany after the airfield was captured by American troops. Extensive paint wear could be seen on the walkways on the wing roots.

That skin is going to make the g14 usage stats jump a bit!  Nice one.
