Hmm something I know i stated on one of the bigweek NG's once upon a time...
We all fly this GAME, it allows us to escape from the reality of our daily lives. I see cries of unrealistic this and gamey that..
I have thought about what it must have been like to actually fly one of these machines of death into battle.
Thankfully we will NEVER see a simulation that comes close to reality. You all can't imagine what it must have been like to be actually in combat with some ace all over your six and your options all gone.
A lot of men died in horrible ways, the lucky ones were dead before they knew what hit them. Many saw the earth coming hurtling towards them through the flames with no chance of escape... The day a simulation can recreate the emotions some of these men that saw it coming must have felt, I quit.
Gotta love games, they allow us to escape reality, do we really want our past times to be "real"?

i agree,my grandfather was in sunderlands during ww2 and has a lot of horrible stories about it,war is not fun, but, thanks to simulation we all have a chance to test our skills without risking life, liberty or underwear (mostly) lets be thankful we can.

Good post Skurj. I never kid myself that I would want to do this for life or wish that I'd been there flying in combat back in WWII. Not once.
It's why guys like Earl get my utmost repect and admiration (besides him being such a great guy).
