Title: Excellent book on B25s
Post by: fdiron on December 09, 2001, 10:23:00 AM
"Warpath across the Pacific" is an excellent book on B25s in the Pacific.  It has hundreds, perhaps thousands, of first hand accounts of low level B25 strikes.  The book follows a B25 bomber group from its stateside training to the end of the war.  It is a large book, but every page is interesting.  It also has hundreds of actual combat photographs.  Some of the neatest pictures are of Japanese ships exploding and pictures of Zeros attacking the B25s.  If you've ever wondered what B25 combat was like in the Pacific, this would be the book to get.

The actual end-of-the war "yearbook" of the 345th is also available as a reprint. It is called simply "Warpath".

It's available online I think. When I get home, I'll check for an ISBN.

It's written by the guys in the unit and is somewhat like a high school yearbook.

Will check it out toad.  The author of "Warpath across the pacific" is comming out with a new book about the a bomber group in the ETO in febuary 2002.  Its $80, but if its anything like his previous book it will be worth it.

Yeah, Hickey is OK. Sent him some information to correct an error about an incident in the book and he said he put it in if he ever did another printing.

Seems like a nice guy. His research is pretty darn good overall.
