After re-arming in Ki-84 WEP doesn’t come back, is this intended?
-
Yes, it is. Total overall WEP time is per sortie and not influenced by rearming.

I have had planes that didn't use their full WEP cycle, reload, and it is gone afterwards. Maybe this is what he meant more specifically.
-
To clarify, whether I use WEP 3 times or 6 times before I rearm, it’s gone after I re-arm.
I’ve waited over 10 mins after re-upping to try using it…doesn’t work.
What I notice is the temperature will be in the black/well below yellow, but when I press for WEP the temperature jumps way up into yellow/red. That temp would prevent WEP from being available.
So if it’s intended, wouldn’t that be historically inaccurate? Landing and re-arming wouldn’t make the engine run hotter.

For some reason WEP is disabled after a re-arm. I always thought it was a bug.

I assume it's a bug. I don't expect a reload to recharge WEP, but it definitely shouldn't disabled it if it's available prior to reload.
-
You would think a refuel would reset wep back to 100%
Pretty sure it works in the 109s after refueling

Guess the crew fills the tank and guns but water meth only stored in the hangar.

I re-armed with Ki-84, used WEP only 3 times before re-arm, took off with WEP, but gone for rest of a 17min sortie.
Re-armed with 109K and WEP was available entire sortie ~25 mins after it re-charged.
Is it perhaps plane specific?
-
Sounds like a defect...no reason it should be disabled after refueling if it worked b4 you refueled
As not many of us refuel, it isn't a widely experienced defect :)

Ki-84 has a total WEP time of 10 minutes per sortie, the 109K-4 has 43 minutes.

I have to figure out how to land first. :joystick:

wep was changed years ago. it was an oversight during ah2. was fixed way back then. according to ah staff.
so no more wep on rearm for years.

It’s been like that since HTC implemented the rejoin sortie in flight. If you disco and rejoin in time you loose welp, rearming has the same effect.

Is that a typo? 43 mins of wep? :noid

No it’s not but it’s total time, you still need a cool down time after 10minutes.
There’s a table of wep times on the forum,IIRC correctly that only on the 109f/g the E and K have different total times.

I think that depends on the type of WEP the plane uses.
The p51 just had about 10% blocked off at the top of the throttle travel and you had to pull a pin to use that last 10% and you could run it until you blow the engine .... but even below full military power you can blow the engine.
The P&W double wasp air cooled engines used water injection. Once the water is gone wep is gone.
Many of the European planes used Nitro Methane injection with the same issue that you have with water injection, once you are out of Nitro your done until you land and rearm/refuel.
However Aces High does not accurately model Wep or Engine management any way.
