I have an issue which surfaced a month or two ago where I don't get VOX in game. It's strange. It's not 100%. It comes and goes. I've update sound drivers and W11 OS updates are current (I've been playing AH with W11 for a long time).
It appears to only impact me so I'm thinking the next logical step is to reinstall the game but was wondering if there are any files I should save before laying down a fresh install. I don't care about the joystick scaling but I would like to keep my joystick mappings and maybe hang on to skins. Is there anything else I should consider?

I also save the Terrain and Settings folders.

If you have a monitor with speakers in it, disable them in Device Manager. That might affect your sound.

Thank you both. No speaker on my monitors. I have a USB speaker I use occasionally but when I play the game I have bluetooth disabled and the mobile speaker is turned off.

I recall at one time there were different game installers. I think one for DirectX 9 and one for DirectX 11. Is this still true or does the download you get here do the trick?

Both dx9 and dx11 are included in the dl. Iirc it defaults (is the short cut it puts on your desktop)to the dx11 version. If you want to run the dx9 version you have to go get it in the AH folder.
