I think he's talking about the player that talks about how much she hates the USA while enjoying it's freedoms and money from sponsors to represent said country.

Just to let you know the the USA team lost to Sweden and is now out. Looks good on them.
A rare moment of agreement
Didn't appreciate swapping out local morning news to force viewership

Nahhhh...
But I will say woman's soccer players have some of the nicest bootys on the planet. Atleast they've got that going for them. Just don't tell em cuz they will probably try to crush that because God forbid woman look sexy these days. If anyone has any ideas on how to end the bull nose earing fad, I'm all ears....

Glad Sweden won. They have a team of classy women. The USA was not represented in the tournament.

Nope didn't watch it. Most of the commentary I have seen lays the blame for the loss on rapenhoe. I also read she is retiring, which is good news to me.

A class act was the England-Nigeria game which also went to a shootout with England winning. Unlike the USA-Sweden game, the players of both teams shook hands and hugged.

“ the federation takes a 10% cut of the total prize money that FIFA awards the U.S. for its finishes in the 2022 and 2023 World Cups and the other 90% is split evenly between the men's and women's teams. So the better each team performs, the more the players on both squads make.”

From what I gather, if let’s say “country a’s” both men and women’s team won the World Cup each team would be compensated roughly the same. I was trying to find out the revenue discrepancy between the men’s and women’s teams with out much success. In the US I would suspect the women’s team generates more revenue due the facts that soccer is or was considered an “feminine” sport and the women tend to perform better amongst their peers then the men.

All one needs to do is look at tv ratings to figure it out.
womens pro sports has low viewership.

soccer is a world sport. viewer ship in the usa is low compared to the world. for years women's soccer has ranked higher than men but they would take money women earned in the world cup to pay the men more.
the world cup pays millions of dollars to participating teams based on how well they do. men's usually go home in second or third round while women's rank higher and thus are awarded more money. true the women's cup doesn't compare to the men's but it's still hundreds of millions of dollars.

How fifa and their NBA run their affairs is their business. I will admit that the players for team USA soccer tend to be quite obnoxious. More so the case when a 15yo team beats them quite handily. Maybe they ought to have the men’s and women’s team compete against each other and the payment is determined by the percentage of the total score.

Like I said, very equatable. Should be based on who has a bigger draw as a whole. If the women's team draw 5 million and the men's team draws 10... is it fair to spit the earnings equally?

If the respective player for each side agree to that arrangement then yes.

Why does it feel this has immediately become an issue of relative pay on a left-wing / right-wing politics footing instead of about sport? What's happening in your media?

I think we need to approach the situation as if the women’s and Men’s teams make different products.
so "football" isnt "football"?
Here is the hard truth. Much of women's sports is nowhere near as popular as men's. That US women's team was beat by 15-year-old boys. Hard to market that. Soooo.... The sanctioning body doesn't want to be called misogynists, so they cave and equity all around.

Women make up 50% of the population. Why don't they support women's sports? They demand equality but then don't support that which they demand equality for. It comes off as disingenuous.

Slightly off-topic... Motor sports is my thing, specifically motorcycles. I root for this kid to win every time I watch. She could race in the all female class and dominate it, but she doesn't.
IMHO, she has more grit than that whole women's team combined.

I don't know anything about soccer or how popular men's soccer is versus women's soccer, but I know that in the NBA compared to the women's basketball league the men's league is hundreds of times more popular and makes probably hundreds of times more money. Yet the women think they should get equal pay to the men? It's not about the gender, it's about them actual product. Women's basketball is not remotely as popular as men's basketball.
So I don't know where they think the money will come from. Lol..

I'm surprised more men don't watch Woman's soccer just to check out those nice Arses :D I'm tellin you, some of the nicest out there. Though it does them no favor to disrespect their country and thats why so many Americans dont care. Besides soccer was never really a big American sport. The majority of people who watch sports arent self hating blue haired fat slobs that for some reason the soccer girls are trying to bend toward as a target market. Those types of woman don't care about sports. That leaves the few men who know about the arses and the few athletic woman who play soccer on their political spectrum who actually like soccer enough to watch it.
BTW, of course they are going to lose or have a close match with very good 15 year olds. They are basically the same size and strength of 15 year old boys. It's soccer afterall...

Nonsense. They got paid less precisely because they earned less from fans. Pay is equalized by the market, not by taking money from men's soccer to boost women's soccer.

The women generate more revenue in the US than the Men’s. I stated my opinion as to why in a previous comment. Now globally, it’s an entirely different story. I would think a country with a good soccer tradition would not waste their time watching an inferior product “women’s” but who knows.
