Title: 339th FS P-38J

Thanks to Lyric1 for finding me the info for this skin, which is a request from Devil.

This P-38J flew with the 347th Fighter Group's 339th Fighter Squadron in the South West Pacific in 1944. It was the preferred mount of Captain Bill Harris who scored many of his sixteen confirmed kills in it. Harris had served in the US Navy pre-war and re-enlisted in the USAAF in 1941. After serving in the 339th FS he later went on to lead the 18th Fighter Group as a Lt. Colonel. Other 339th pilots scored kills in this aircraft including Truman S. Barnes, who shot down five in a few days while flying it.
