Dutch Grand Prix today. Do you think this fellow was behind schedule, incompetant or trying to protect his Aston Martin Vantage from the peasants' car doors?

Parking ticket, yes or no?

I'm OK with this.  He's not blocking any extra spaces, he's just trying to protect his expensive car.

Fair point Mr. Sparky. No pedestrians walk along that side  :old:

Im a "follow the rules" kind of guy when it comes to the roads. Id give him a ticket, and if there is history, tow it and have it impounded. Just because you own an expensive car doesnt mean you can break the rules.

Can you point to the line that he's crossed?

In Holland blatantly parking on the curb is usually an automatic ticket.

Says online the Vantage has a "bonded-aluminium platform". Don't know if that means an all-alloy bodyshell.

Some of your Ford pickup trucks are alloy, right?

Taking in the consideration Aston has Belgian plates, I'd say it's very well and neatly parked. Lived there 15 years and saw masterpieces which cross the borders of imagination.

Meh, he ain't hurtin nothin.... people these days have a hard time controlling their car doors, especially if kids are opening them. I don't blame him.

I park at the far end of a lot all by myself. Did it with the vett, do it with the benz.
If I know the lot is going to be crowded, I take the beater.

We need a "Like" button on this BBS.

I do the same. Mine is only a 99 mustang, but its my baby and Id hate to see it dinged up so I park it away from the animals.

If you’re bent out of shape by this, the future will suck more than the present.

Yup.  But...  There's a LOT of people who go through life actively seeking out the next thing to be pissed about.  Hence, this BBS.
