Title: 7./Jg 54 Bf 109G-2
Post by: Devil 505 on September 29, 2023, 09:29:57 PM
Bf 109G-2 of 7./Jg 54 in January 1943. Pilot unknown. This aircraft participated in the battle of Velikiye Luki while based at Isotscha airfield near Smolensk, Russia.

I originally created a skin of this scheme as a special default in the Russia winter SEA terrain because evidence of this plane's existence was lacking, I have since found reference from Jerry Crandell that despite not having a photo, is pretty much iron clad. This scheme is depicted on one of his company's decal sheets. For those who don't know, Mr. Crandell, may he rest in peace, was one of the foremost experts on the paint and markings of Luftwaffe aircraft. If he was comfortable with the reference on "Blue 5" then so am I. The skin itself has been updated to my current standard.

I have about 50 fine art prints in my collection.  The first one I bought was his painting of Marseille's Yellow 14.   I wasn't aware Jerry died.  That's too bad.
