Could HTC delegate to someone the ability to reset tour on the second day of a new month? We have a recurring problem with getting new tour starting on time. What's to be done when Dale cannot do it for whatever reason.

Not worry about score?

Not worry about score?
you mean there is a score here?? Lol
-
Wow, he made it four days!!!

Kidding aside, Caine's request doesn't seem unreasonable. I wonder if reseting scores for a new tour could be automated somehow?
-
It means nothing who cares. You’re still #1 at cv hoarding. :D I bet most don’t even know how to comprehend the scoring.
I certainly don’t even know how to interpret most of it. Wtf is my bombing percentage of 4.284829475827? I mean I know it’s not like lol.
I wish it tallied up the number of objects you destroy. Like hangers, bunkers etc…

Hitech said he could do t, but its a lot of work.
1 run script
2 announce arena
3 reset
4 run script
5 run ranker
6 run script to archive and it updates web page.
To automate those steps is a lot of work.

Ironically its in this thread where he said it.

What is considered "on time"?

Tour is supposed to start first day of the month. So, I would say whatever time scores reset on the first.

I expected him to make a thread as soon as the clock turned over to November 1st. It is almost like he could call HTC and inquire about it instead of clogging up the forums with this.

....which of course would be a great "reminder" for Hitech. :P

I want him to tell us why it matters

I think it's just another way to play the game. Personally I like to track my numbers. Not so much against other players, but to me, month after month. Adding days or weeks to one tour not only messes up the tour, but also shortens up the he next month throwing off my graphs.
I like to track my kill to deaths, and my hit percentage. Is it the end of the world when it gets delayed, no but it does mess up a part of the game up for me.

Ok sure but if you’re doing all that you can formulate your way out of it.

Because when you are charged for something you expect to get it..
Old timers like myself might not care about resetting the tour like I don't care that the games homepage is continuously out of date but someone thinking about dropping the cash and trying out the game might be turned off by it...
Our loyalty to this game knows no bounds.
Most don't know what we do about AH or HT and thus might get a wrong impression
It looks silly to try to slam someone pointing this out..you guys have to do it way too often imo.

Some think everyone should see and play the game the way they do.
Fact is, there are a lot of variables and moving parts, where what’s not not important to some is to others. One way is not the only way.
IMO, many POVs is what makes a more well rounded game and community, in the long run.
If playing one’s own way, within reason, keeps them involved then they should do that, they pay too.

It certainly matters from a statistical analysis standpoint looking at monthly tour #s. Also, If you are competitive and are jiving for a better position, not ending the tour could impact final positions. So if you thought you'd be a certain # at the direct EOM, but then the tour doesn't change, you could lose that spot, or gain it over others.
I'm with Eagler about the website. I wish a few of the special event guys had access. I feel the October Scenario should have been marketed on the front page along with FSOs. For real special events like Scenarios they should certainly get representation on the front page and have a MOTW/M in the MA to promote the scenario as they don't happen often.

Fugitive said it much better than I could!

HTC has been aware of this since May 1, 2020, it appears to be setting on cinder blocks in front yard waiting on fixin! Best reason in world to get a backup person to start new tour!
-
I nominate AKCaine as adjunct tour starter-upper!! :rock
As a back up measure, maybe ask Dale to add this to his Apple Watch Calendar app

Agreed.
The amount of work and time that goes into any event should get proper advertisement.
Evidently, nothing happens anywhere. It’s disheartening, and it seems to be in the design to discourage progress. Why I just threw up my hands. Selling other games is o k, other people’s work to help the game is not worth the time. Re-read that. My faith has flipped 180. We deserve better.
Almost feels like the contract is with another game.

Ahh so the first day of the month, not the fist Monday or something like that.

I would be happy you keep the site updated if I was asked by someone… :salute

The big annoyance is that we are still paying a premium price of $15. That's what I paid for iRacing and very similar to what I pay for World War II online. But those games I'm still getting development, new equipment added, they have a modern website, things start and end on time, I'm getting my $15 worth.
My question here is why are we still paying premium prices for a Aceshigh? For the service we get, this is a $5 a month game now at best.

IMHO $9.99 would be quite fair. I get why there's no ongoing development and that's fine by me...but the price/value relationship no longer exists as it once did.

I honestly agree. But, I will continue to pay my $15 because I love this game.

I feel the same way… for now.

I spend more than that on toilet paper every month. I got no problem with it. :neener:

I am not defending caine here, but it does seem to be his only job these days.
