Recalling an earlier time...the Dawn Patrol were a great bunch of people I would fly against in the early morning hours (US Eastern).
Any of you still flying?
-
Years ago I was one of those...I would get online before work
With just a couple of us up there it was great a2a fun

Hey Eagler...those were good times.
Do you recall "COHO"? He was from Colorado I think. Do you recall any other names?
-
I remember Coho, good player and a real nice guy.
-
Tankman2 was there and one other I can't recall their handle
It was some of the best times in AH

I remember all those names too! There was a different feel that time a day way back. I used to play Sunday mornings a lot and it was super fun. Now I limit myself to only playing a few hours in the evening.

I remember back when my Saturday nightys turned into Sunday mornings while flying.

That’s why I limit myself to a few hours at night. It’s too easy to log in with a cup of coffee in the morning and the next thing you know everyone is asking you what’s for dinner. :joystick:

The MidWar planset was the best.

Being back Midwar is my credo! lol
I know current numbers don’t warrant split arenas anymore but I propose we have Midwar Momday’s where the MA is Midwar plane set. :airplane:

Man...Summer time I was playing until 3-4am, sleeping until lunch, and doing it again the next day...
No wonder I had like 360 hours one tour :bolt:

In the name of variety some maps should limit the planesets...
A map could be early war, the next mid followed by a map with late planes...then the next has them all again...
I think more would be for such variety than those that would whine against it..
Mid war is best..more fighting less running

Mid-war was some of the best fun in my 20 year tenure here! Dawn Patrol :joystick: I remember Coho...what a super nice guy he was. I recall seeing him in MA maybe 2-3 years ago. He was thinking of returning to the game and then, POOF!...never saw him again.
Other ppl I remember are Hispd (pretty darned sure "Allison" was his 2nd acc't) Deadpoet (still plays) Cujo & Smitty (still plays). DmdDummy (still plays) I'm trying to remember the guy who flew FW's and Lancs....pretty sure he flew Nits...he was somewhat of an ascorbic personality as a foe but nice fella as a buddy.
I miss those days....a lot! :old:

I miss the old EW, MW and LW days.
Was a frequent flier with Eaglhrt (if I recall the name correctly)
In my best voice:
Boy, the way Glenn Miller played
songs that made the hit parade
Guys like me we had it made
Those were the days
Didn't need no welfare state
ev'rybody pulled his weight
gee our old LaSalle ran great
Those were the days
And you knew who you were then
girls were girls and men were men
Mister we could use a man like Herbert Hoover again
People seemed to be content
fifty dollars paid the rent
freaks were in a circus tent
Those were the days
Take a little Sunday spin
go to watch the Dodgers win
Have yourself a dandy day
that cost you under a fin
Hair was short and skirts were long
Kate Smith really sold a song
I don't know just what went wrong
those were the days

I remember fun times in early or midwar, can't recall which one. It was the one with the hurri2. I think it was midwar.
There was a guy named Sparky or something like that who we used to tease and call Sparkles (back when things like that were still allowed) We used to insult the crap out of each other and have a bunch of fun.
-
His official name was Sparky. "Sparkles" was an affectation. Pretty good stick...he flew the Zeke well, as I recall.

I thought he flew the hurri2 but it was a long time ago so you're prob right.
-
He flew a number of rides and was proficient in all of them.
