Title: New Install, get splash screen, closes, done

Just downloaded and installed, click "Aces High III DX11" shortcut and I get the Aces High screen, then it instantly closes.. no error messages, nothing. Next step?

What happens if you launch with the dx9 exe?

Exact same results, even tried the ocr.exe. Not from steam, so skipped that one.. (It just want to install a Steam version)

Uninstalled, ran the Installer as Admin, same results.

I wonder if its your location in Spain?   Are you using a VPN?

Sounds like your download got corrupted. I'd try to download it again and reinstall it.

I'm in Spain, no BPM running, I will try a new download tomorrow..

That is, no VPN running. Uninstalled and re-downloaded from scratch. Both downloads were 381,881kb, new installation proceeded normally, same result. Splash screen for a few seconds, then nothing. Will try it through Steam just for ha-ha's..

EDIT: Installing through Steam worked. Steam downloads the entire package of ~2gb from the start. Whatever process that occurs (downloading the rest of the app?) as soon as you start the standalone application for the first time is not playing well with my system.

Sounds like downloading stdshapes.res might be the issue.
