Title: Civil War (Movie)
Post by: Simon on December 14, 2023, 02:49:51 PM
Coming in Spring to a theatre near you.
My favourite type of movies are documentaries, or sometimes those based on true stories. I do also enjoy some fictional dramas that have a plausibility factor. That's one of the reasons I despise all these Marvel and similar superhero movies that they're endlessly pushing out nowadays.
Anyway, this might be complete cheese, or possibly jingoistic propaganda, but it has a chance to be an amazing and compelling blockbuster if it's done right --> https://youtu.be/aDyQxtg0V2w?si=NkAQ21iu4UpqgfFc

I'll definitely watch.
I'm Interested to see how they'll portray the combatants.

Texas and California join forces to fight other parts of the US.
So it's got that realistic element going for it.
Many from California have moved to Texas. They're talking about renaming Austin to New California.

Watched Leave the World Behind the other day. I thought it was interesting. Wife didn't.
If it is "predictive programming" then why expose your plans?

Predictive programming is getting people used to something so that there is less resistance to it happening.
However, predictive programming and a forewarning appear similar.

The context of that movie was revealing a shadow government creating events to overturn a government/society. If that were my goal I would not reveal it ahead of time. Unless something else was known or planned and my goal was deception. When the power goes out we may have little more than speculation as to why.

It would be a short movie...
Gangs, military, any yahoo with a gun...
No electricity, zero personal control
Suicide off the charts...
It won't last long

While I am not convinced regarding the term "tribalism" I have to agree with the individual being interviewed on a lot of points. There is a divide between large groups but I'm not convinced it is on the basis of blue collar agrarian society vs elites. I think it is more on the basis of constitutionalism vs socialism as being espoused in a contrived or hidden manner in "higher education". I put that in quotes as I am seeing a tremendous number of kids going into what I would term "gucci" majors vs something that is going to allow them to have a viable career in the real world. We need far more real hard scientists and engineers (of all types) than we do social majors.
I think education should also be moved out of anything termed "liberal arts" since education should be politically neutral and more science based than arts as in touchy feelly crap. There is more than enough real world information on how to teach kids with differing learning abilities and should NEVER be based on some social concept such as being concerned for the kid's feelings vs achievements. If the kid cannot , or more likely simply refuses to, learn and make the grade then they should be held back. Failure is always an option in the real world and not teaching / training kids about that is a true disservice.

I was going to my kids in a fishing competition and I asked if they were going to award prizes for the 3 biggest fish. I figured top 3 was normal. They told me "don't worry, everybody will get something" I didn't let my kids fish cause I don't want them to learn that coming in 20th out of 20 gets a prize...

Gay sex on the senate floor with a registered foreign agent from DR, school board members being sworn in on pornography books. Baphomet statues at the Iowa capitol. Reddit raging over that being taken down, but are fine with George Washinton statues being toppled. The media non stop assault on a 4 year politician. Tax money being sent overseas. A civil war/revolution is going to come sooner than later. The funny thing is though, it will be started by the left and their raging "protests", but it's the men stopping them who are the "bad guys". I'm surprised one hasn't started already. Thing is, it will all come down to who the president is. One side will okay UN and China Troops, the other will oppose it.

Hold up a second, "liberal" in "Liberal Arts" does not refer to a political leaning. There are Fine Arts, Performing Arts, and Liberal Arts. I think "Art" was synonymous with "Skill".
Why do we call the liberal arts "liberal"?
The liberal in liberal arts, a cornerstone of the education of so many, has very little to do with political leanings; its roots can be traced to the Latin word liber, meaning “free, unrestricted.” Our language took the term from the Latin liberales artes, which described the education given to freeman and members of the upper classes, and involved training in the mind (grammar, logic, geometry, etc.). The lower classes were educated in the servile arts, which were mechanical or occupational in nature. The phrase liberal arts has been part of our language for a very long time, with use dating back to the 14th century.

Liberal Arts used to be about Critical Thought and not Critical Theory.

Intent from long ago aside, the terms and actual practice no longer conform to the original definitions. From the time I spent in the teaching arena and obtaining my MA in ED I can state that the "liberal" is far more in line with the current definition of the term than the prior. I feel a great example of this is the travesty of "social promotion" where the student is promoted to the next grade whether they did anything to show they learned or mastered the material all to protect their "fragile ego". I saw it in action in the classroom. One kid decided there was no reason to do ANYTHING in the classroom other than sit in the desk, so that was what he did. I came into contact with him when he was in 6th grade. He had been doing the same non participation for 3 years. He even refused to show up and his Dad had to leave work, get his butt out of bed then take him to school every day, usually about 2 hours late. I asked him why he did that and if he had any idea that he couldn't live like that out of school. He was quite honest and said he got promoted anyway so there was no reason to perform. He also said his Dad ran the construction company and would "give him a job". The kid got promoted to 7th grade by school policy. I have no idea if he could even read or write since he never demonstrated the skills.

We were in Walmart with my son who was 4 at the time and he was reading stuff. They were all shocked and said he must go to a really good school. I told them he was home schooled. The praise stopped instantly. I guess they believed that government schools were the only option and if I wasn't sending him there to get his brain washed that I was doing something wrong. It was pretty eye opening.

Well, it must be foreshadowing.
They are going to be absolutely desperate to prevent 45 from becoming 47. Keep your eyes peeled. I feel they will try anything to prevent the election if they cannot remove him from the ballots.

A buddy of mine said something that made sense to me. He said the people in charge are too destructive for it to be accidental or due to incompetence.
If you were incompetent you would do some stuff that was good for the country from time to time.
One of the things that I think shows how these guys feel about citizens is the record number of homeless, record number of vets committing suicide, prices going up due to money printing and where is their focus? Send billions of tax dollars to other countries or give people who broke the law coming into the country tax payer money, plane tickets, food benefits etc.

Another one came to mind.
They're talking about having people join the military because they can't recruit enough who's first action in this country was breaking the law by coming here illegally. No doubt their first loyalty would be to our country.

Imagine being so lost you throw up a sign "gays for Palestine." Supporting the most oppressive regimes in the world right now.
It cracks me up so much, they called us anti semites for the last 2 years. Meanwhile, the lefts BS has finally caught up to them by accepting Islam. You have mossad vs the muslim brotherhood :rofl So now they are shutting down grand central for Palistine and straight hating on jews. I saw this coming from a mile away with the Obama faction coming in. I knew it would come eventually. It's just so hilarious seeing this play out.

Kinda funny how the "sanctuary cities" love them until they actually show up.
I say all these people that support illegal immigration should be the ones paying to support them and should be putting them up in their own houses.

Throughout the world, no matter where you live, things will not get better. Be prepared to protect and defend what you believe, own and love. I'm not speaking from the perspective of the extreme prepper paranoia of some. Just a typical citizen paying attention. Technology has brought the evil of mankind right into your living rooms via mass and social media. How long before it arrives at your front doors? When it arrives, how will you respond?
Here's something NOT widely covered by the mass media. Most of you will realize your were unaware...

I just read the federal debt is now $100,000 per person in the US. Wonder how that will work out with the inflation caused by the rest of the world abandoning the dollar and all that money coming home to chase the same about of goods. Usually governments like to start wars when stuff like this happens. Only problem is that the oceans won't shield us from ICBMs. "May you live in interesting times"

The first failure is calling it immigration. Illegal aliens are not immigrants. Immigrants come here legally. Don't dirty up true immigrants as they are always welcome. Illegals are all criminals.

Unsustainable debt is usually inflated away for countries whose debt is in currency they can print. The country prints money to pay the debt, and the currency is eventually devalued. Currency devaluation has happened to the UK, Germany, France, Italy, Austria, Greece, Spain, China, India, Argentina, Venezuela, the Roman Empire, ancient Egypt, etc.
War increases government spending and inflation. So war isn't usually the solution to inflation. But if war can get a country out of paying debts, or be a mechanism for seizing substantial foreign assets, or if it can distract the citizens from other giant internal turmoil . . .
That $100,000 of total US public dept per person is $200,000 per working person. It is $250,000 per US household.
Defending what you believe, own, and love is seen as a deadly threat to certain organizations that are currently in power. There are other certain vocal groups that could also be classified as domestic terrorist organizations simply by what they are doing in this country are also fearful of the same thing.

Have no doubt.... we have terrorists in country now. Our enemies have people in country now. Infrastructure will be the first targets. They no longer have to worry about leadership.
