This was the response in the first two hours of my big week post on r/flightsim with Spikes video and a brief overview. There are tons of other sub reddits in the AH wheelhouse. Overexcited me forgot to include the link to the events page but I added it in just now. Hey, where is my 2009 era affiliate link!?! :rofl :rofl Those are the days! Who remembers banner farms? :rock :old:
This sub has similar numbers to the MSFS sub that has a dedicated self promo thread I will hit up in a week or so. Staggering my posts to hopefully give people a chance to have enough time to get comfy offline and then do their trial during the scenario to drive it home. I also do not want to fatigue the crossover members.
I have spilled my own blood in the mainframe during the early days of seo and social media in my career and I realize views don’t always equal clicks to cash money. (I.e, views to upvotes is weird specific to Reddit)
Alas… you gotta start some new momentum somewhere in this new landscape… any publicity is never none. I will keep posting and keep everyone posted.

I wish we could've got the Reddit page going years ago. I posted events there for a while, but it's tough to run that page without proper support from tech to trainers to general help.

I’m not exactly sure how to describe Reddit. It’s basically a giant BBS that you can tailor to whatever topics you like. It’s pretty good at filtering out nonsense you don’t want too. I suggest just start checking the sub reddits like r/flightsim. There is a sub Reddit for everything you can think of. It’s the only social media I do.
The post in r/flightsim is up to 1.2K views for whatever it’s worth. I also shared it in r/hotas and that’s up to 1K views already.

Only 4 upvotes and no comments. Sheesh. It would seem that subrebbit is hardly active. Kinda too bad it didn't get more recognition. It may be lost in the wind now. I'm one of the 4 lol. Oh well. Nice try atleast.

Also the Hoggit Discord is very active - https://discord.gg/hoggit
I know it's DCS based but there are spots for other games there.

I wouldn’t put too much stock in upvotes they are not an indicator of views. I’m not expecting a drove of people but I will keep sharing it around. 2K views in 12 hours from two subs is better than none. I’m hoping the MSFS sub will get a lot of views when I post there.
I’m only posting in subs I know accept discussion of other games or that I am a part of. I don’t want to be spamming.

That’s what others have said but I am not a DCS player or community member. I will leave that to others to do hopefully sounds like it would be helpful. Anyone is welcome to share my posts or use the copy.

No new players want to play this game. It is way too old for the newer generation to even consider. No matter how many times you share anything Aces High 3 trying to get players either to return or new players it is always the same response.
Game is way too out of date.

The response I've seen the most is about the subscription based model. I guess people expect to have to buy the planes these days? Maybe changing it to you can get all the 40 eny planes for a base purchase and you have to buy the "better" planes would change this?
I don't think it's a waste of time to try to promote the game but I think it's important to see what stopping new players from joining and try to address it. Otherwise you would be correct that it is a waste of time.

You chose your games, we choose our games. There’s nothing to do in pretty planes except learn the next plane cockpit. This crowd enjoys MP. The arrogance that people are happy with their own choices is stupid, is stupid. You do you, we’ll do us. Some like more than sitting on a runway learning buttons. Which is why some fly both, they still desire what pretty planes doesn’t offer, true MP. Without this outlet pretty planes may seem even more boring when that reality hammer slams., more evident that it is.
One might think 1001 attempts to obtain a mass migration without getting different results, could be viewed as insanity. Pretty planes has been around a long time, you’ve gotten what you have a chance to get. Their peak is over. You tend to look more a fool than a wise man with good judgement. “if you’re not in the pretty planes cult, well you’re just a stupid human…”, you’ve become freakish,…creepy.
If this game were to close, I predict the majority will take on IL-2. That said, they just lost a main programmer.

I think with Masters Of The Air playing later this months yall are going to see a large influx of new players. Just remember to be nice. Yall were all noobs once. I'm personally banging my head against the wall because trying to get back into it I found out I have macular degeneration which means I'm effectively going blind. Spent a lot of money trying to get back in via VR and there's no lens or anything I can do that my docs can figure out.
Just be nice to the noobs. It's a great game.
