Fw 190A-3 of 1./JG 51 based at Vyazma, Russia in the fall of 1942.
This aircraft was photographed after crash landing. The usual green camouflage scheme of RLM 70 and 71 seen on JG 51 190's in 1942 seems to have been complimented by an even lighter tone, which I represented with RLM 02. The narrower yellow tail band seen on the first batch of JG 51 190's was partially removed/crudely painted over and a broad band was applied over and under the fuselage cross. The emblems of JG 51 and I/JG 51 are painted on the cowl and forward fuselage.
