Title: Well, that’s that
Post by: Animl-AW on April 16, 2024, 08:04:23 PM
Last gaming computer got killed by lightning.
My newish gaming computer just died the same way.
Right as I finish a long MotA video.

Not sure when I’ll be up again.

Its a sign

It's temporary. I'm on another computer now. Just have to fix the gamer :)

It's a sign, I'm not going away.

Go play in your sandbox, former player.

Because it's Dell they have proprietary power supplies and MBs, therefore it's in the shop running test to figure out what's bad and what's good.

That strike happened 70ft from my window. White bright and loud AF. I saw it happen, I knew before the lights came back on the PC was toast.

I'm praying it's just the PSU. More so praying the SSD and HDD didn't cook.

Surge protectors DO NOT WORK, period. In our sound systems we have rack mounted power conditioners, expensive. Best Buy sells an inline power conditioner for $100. I didn't have one, YET. When it takes a surge you throw it away, but it can save $2k worth of hardware.

One way or another I'll be back up and flying, even if I have to buy a whole new tower.

I have a Furman power conditioner that I plug my guitar amps and my PC into!

The "trip-switch" fuse box has saved many an electrical devise in my home

Yep seen many of those. Yours is for 110v, ours is for 220v. 3 phase AC Distro, everything gets powered from that, and every rack powered from that has the Furman or diff brand, Same action. Ya only know it works when it doesn’t.

As you know MBs are low voltage, a surge will toast that or the PSU well before a 110 circuit gets triggered. Everything else on that circuit is all good.

If the MB is toast the SSD is probably toast too, cuz its mounted directly to it.

When you act like one. Once people have toyed with me they’re done here. I’m sure thats sarcasm anyway. Life is too short to settle for one minute of nonsense.

Skimming players from the only game I play is nonsense. You 4-5 have repeatedly painted yourselves in a corner with me. Tolerate it once, tolerate it 1000 times.

Besides, I’m busy with engine management.

When I came back in 2020 I was putting way more effort into it than you have. People just don't want to play this game. It is like taking a step back. But I still played and made videos.

Realizing there are other flight games out there is the first step.

Not sure what type you’re referring too. You’re 210-220v ?
It all depends how its triggered. Typical circuit breakers in US 110v need too much heat to trigger, the surge has already passed through before it heats up enough. Higher voltage stuff will survive a surge. They just shut down until it passes.

The inline conditioner I mentioned basically cooks and you throw it away. Basically its a capacitor. Its triggered much easier. A bass player I know turned me onto it, day late dollar short.

You may have a different setup for 220v

Not true at all.

That said

1) Its bad to advertise anything on a competitor site, its low class nonsense. Dweebs do that.
2) I tried all those sims, you think I’m lost in space? If I liked how they are played I’d already be there. Same as others here think. We don’t like people knocking on our doors every day with bibles in hand. It’s annoying.

You do you, I’ll do me.

Despite I could work on that forever, there is not one second of dead air time for 15 min. Praying I didn’t lose those drives. Best footage I’ve had to work with. Will probably be my best. Can’t imagine when I’ll get footage like that again. We’ll see.

If the power of suggestion doesn't work, nothing will.
Those guys will bite my ankles until the world goes flat.

Basically we are competitors in marketing our own games. But they spit in our face and LOL because we can't do the same there. "you can't stop us".
He's just being a punk, it's what punks do. The repulsive infamous InTardNet Dweeb.

Intellect?
Dunning-Kruger Effect comes to mind.

In game?
What, I get my own soap opera?

Well SO FAR, the drives are still good, so I might be able to still finish it. PSU is cooked, not sure about the rest yet. But SSD is connected to the MB, I'm gambling that if it's not blown the MB is still good. Waiting on a new PSU, then I will know the rest. I can read data exist on the drivers and the partitions. MAY be up and running by Tues, crossing fingers.
