Flown by seven-victory ace Capt Marvin E. Grant of the 342nd FS/348th FG Leyte, November 1944. Aircraft is bare metal with a red-bordered white racing stripe running down the length of both sides of the fuselage. The cowl is apparently a replacement part, probably scavenged from an earlier olive drab over grey Thunderbolt - likely so the pilot could bring along his old nose art to his newly assigned mount.

I'm intending to submit this skin as an adoption to replace one of the duplicate 49th FG "83" P-47D11 skins. Both the 348th and 49th served in the PTO, so its a Pacific Thunderbolt replacing another Pacific Thunderbolt.
