I am also getting the white screen of death :bhead
Attached my dxdiag, I am running DX12, I have tried to run through steam (which fixes for everyone else that I read) nada, game loads up white screen then crashes
Any ideas? I have quite the super computer for this game so it shouldnt have issues
-
I am running no vpn, no anti virus riot vanguard is disabled so im not sure what else could be causing this
-
How far into the game do you get?
If it loads the notebook, under graphics be sure you have the Nivida card selected. White screen often means not enough video card. Other than that a corrupt file during the DL and install might be an issue.

Nope when game launches it opens a white window then crashes
-
Id clear the Hitech folder, download a fresh copy, and reinstall it.
-
I would still double check the video card settings. If the game wants to run on the Intel 770 that might be the issue. Here's how: https://youtu.be/5Fb0HrCbFT0?feature=shared (https://youtu.be/5Fb0HrCbFT0?feature=shared)
Also, double check that you have connected your monitor to the Nvidia card. If you don't know which it is, here's a simple rule of thumb: The Intel slot is vertical in the square plate in the upper corner of the back of your case, amidst the USB ports. The Nvidia connectors are horizontal in the low-mid in the back, most likely above a grille.
Looking further your DxDiag I'd also update the Bios.
-
Nada none of these fixes work, RTX 4080 super is being detected, deleted every single trace of the game, selected high performance etc, nothing works
-
Did you also update the bios?
And while at the support website, check for other motherboard driver updates as well: https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/PRO-Z690-A-DDR4/support (https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/PRO-Z690-A-DDR4/support)
-
In the windows start menu there's 2 versions of the game, DX9 and DX11. Have you tried running both versions?
-
Nothing has worked so far
-
Do other games work as expected?

When Aces High crashes, it may make a dump file that HiTech can look at and maybe tell you what's going wrong.
In the folder "Hitech Creations\Aces High III\temp" there may be some dump files that look something like "aceshigh*_*_*_*.dmp".
If there are any dmp files, zip up the most recent and email to HiTech asking him to look at it and tell him what's happening. You could also attach it here in this post for him to see.
-
Shenzi did you ever get this fixed ? I'm having the same problem now even though a few weeks ago I was playing with no problems. I just downloaded it so that I could play around offline
but now after the initial download I try to get onto the server to finish up and it's just a white screen that vanishes after about 30 seconds.
-
My issues came after connection update. A reinstall before that went well. Two threads on same issue
-
Clean out temp files and caches, I get opening screen If I do, but it locks up, not finished loading vid setting box

So far he has not answered emails. Seriously fed up with that

Has any of you tried a PM?
Just in case there's a third party automatic spam filter that somehow has decided that everything posted to support@hitechcreations.com is spam.

Hoping this is corrected soon as it's not healthy for the game
Numbers have been lower since the bandwidth upgrade
An update here for his most devoted customers would be nice
I don't think we should have to call ht personally for it ...

I’m having problems understanding how one could change the IP without knowing it will pork the FE of the game, and not bother communicating nor fixing it. It has the appearance of screwing it up and running and hiding. It sure is one way to kill the game.
The build files should have been cocked and loaded, put the new IP in, compile and post it.
Ya just can’t do this without knowing the repercussions.
Maybe I’m just pissed, but this has a horrific appearance. Its starting to smell intensional. I love being wrong.
Not communicating is bad biz.
He could be responsible enough to tell us he’s fixing it. He left us feeling like he porked and ran.
Why did he really upgraded?
If I had the build files it would be a 1-2 hr fix. its not that complicated, nor time consuming.
WTF ever
Can’t blame players for feeling this.

Go to my thread, follow this link

go to this link and download the file. Place it in the Aces High III directory with the .exe files.
After some experimentation, i narrowed it down to the stdshape.res file which is generated after install. So it will not be in a fresh copy of the game. Something is going wrong with that for new installs. It probably is IP related. Some process within the game is calling to an old address when its generating that file. Just my guess. I could be totally wrong.
Hopefully that file works. Its a 2gb download from my working game directory.

The best excuse I could hear right now,...."I couldn't do that because I am working on a game update version"
That's grasping at straws.
EDITED: Well as far as numbers we have at least 3 factors.
1) Summer decline it's natural, probably for all games. AW same issue.
2) Connection/IP update, could have been a lil better planned for our end. It's a bitter sweet update IMO.
3) Like it or not, a post is drawing other players, who would otherwise be in the MA, to trying other games they see posted every day. If they are trying other games, they are not in the MA, Sub or not. Doesn't matter if players still have their sub, if they are somewhere else, they are not here. 5-10 lost from the MA. Depending on the night I'm sure.
Also take note. Beginning of last summer, we were about 100-115, by mid to late summer we gained 40 and went up to 120-140. Start of winter we went up to 130-150, late winter 130-160. MotA era 140-200. After MotA, 120-130+. Just from memory. It seems like a cycle to me.

The question I have, and maybe some others have, is why would you need to "upgrade" the connection of a game when the number of players is going down. Wouldn't it make more sense to have to "upgrade" a connection on a game that was growing? This who situation seems odd to me.
Speaking of updates, has anybody found the stick in the Tempest? I was flying it last night in VR and couldn't find it anywhere.

The upgrade can have several reasons. One could be something became outdated or damaged and a fix would be the 2G option. No reason to fix something and stay old. Same with why you update a computer.
Another very hopeful and naive notion COULD be, there is going to be more data pushed. >IF< there were an update with something like Vulkan, it might require more data flow. I wouldn't hold my breath, but if I were to let my imagination run unleashed that would be a thought. This COULD be the reason for the fresh install white screen issue. Something else would be replacing it. Anyone who just read that should take it with a mountain of salt.

According to HT it has been fixed.

Getting the fix to work may require something to be done at your end. Like a reinstall. Or at least removing some file I can't name and letting the game reinstall it.
