The last triple Ace has sadly passed away! May he never be forgotten for his exploits! And one of the most famous P-51 Mustangs there are in the history of the USAF/USAAF! :salute

Met him totally by accident at OshKosh one year. He was a great person.

He watched over my shoulder as I shot down a few guys ..then said 'You guys have more combat time than any of us did, but we didn't get any 'do-overs' .. we had to get it right the first time." It's a gut punch to realize he is gone.

Met him at the Air Warrior con in 2000.  Nice Gentleman.

He autographed his book for me.  To Fly and Fight.  It's a great read.
