Moved this thread here to get a more reliable and passive audience for the problem
Trying to finish motA, Had brand new issues with AHFV. I uninstalled AH and reinstalled in attempt to fix the new bugs. Now all I get is a white window when attempting to run it.
I got in instantly with new IP change. Now I get nothing at all.
Saved my settings folder. Doesn’t work using old settings folder nor the reinstalled.
Added AH to Nvidia 3D settings list.
Nothing works. Never had this problem before.
Everything was good except Fv. I use xfinity for connection
-
I would try deleting the video config file in the settings directory and the GPU cache files.
It's a shot in the dark as I can't replicate the problem but it sounds like it's video related.

I did both.
If i use Ccleaner to flush caches and temp files I get the initial opening screen that last 15 seconds and then goes unresponsive. Open the game again I get white screen. Flush and I get opening screen again then crash. Totally weird. Never ever had this issue before.
I’m trying to avoid resetting the computer thinking I’ll go all through that with same results.
Baffled

Ya, I doubt that resetting your computer would fix this as it looks like a video problem to me. As if the game is trying to use video settings that won't work.
I would try to see if there's a way to verify that AH3 isn't trying to use an onboard video card for example, unplug any extra monitors, check video drivers and try to manual set the settings in the video file.
I seem to vaguely recall having an issue like this once and if I recall correctly I delete all the video config files I could find and once I got to the video selection screen I was able to fix it.
The only other idea I have is to try to run it in safe mode and see if you can get to the video settings selection screen in AH3 that way.
Just thought of another thing. USB stuff can cause this. Have you tried unplugging all your USB stuff to see if it makes a difference?
Maybe somebody else knows of another file that stores video config data that could be causing the problem.

I was thinking of going safe mode next. Ya I unplugged everything with the same thought. I don’t have any onboard video, just the nvidia 3060ti

Guess I'm fresh out of ideas. I'll post if something brilliant comes to me while I'm taking a dump. GL with it.

Wonder if it's a problem with the download after the server upgrade?
Someone trying a new install on their 2nd PC might confirm this.
I for one am not going to uninstall and potentially botch my game. I also don't have a 2nd PC or I would test it for ya.

I was thinking the same thing. One of the first things most people do when there is an issue is get a fresh download and install. Im not sure but if the game looks to a certain IP for authentication but if it does and it hasnt been updated in the download that could be why some players still cant get into the game.

Well if I clear temp files I get 1st screen with what appears to be a blank box for vid settings, but quickly freezes. If I don’t clear temps I get white.
It also is not getting to make that vid cfg file.
Just reinstalled the game 3 mos ago zero issiues. Does it want the ip that soon?
I also need to see the one temp file I’m deleting. When its gone I get one step close, if its there I get zero
At work right now

From the main HTC page....
We may be down Thursday 5/16 Morning
for a few hours
The Ip's will also change for all our computers
So it could take a while to propagate
Im only guessing, but seeing as the game has to check for an account at boot up if it is checking the wrong address it wont load because it cant get the connection.
-
From what I understand, the issues 2play has been having was due to an old Router, unable to see the new IP. New Router got that taken care of, now he has some other issues. :headscratch:
-
Just a very wild guess, but how about untweaking most of the tweaks? Going back to plain vanilla, no overclocking no tweaks?
Settings you can opt out by changing a slider from on to off is one thing, disabling services is another and uninstalling apps using DISM commands yet another.

I’ll try pulling my isp cable and see if it stops trying to resolve it. HT is not answer emails, which is helpful.

Had the same thought. Started by ireversaing one at s time hoping to find a definitive answer.
Problem is, I think the last reinstall after I made them. Any port in the storm right now.
A pita I’ll ne er forget. Tired of no attendance . . Complaints are valid

Well seeing the game has its a different IP for the downloads page, I'd bet anyone trying to download the game right now is having the same issue and it was a detail that was overlooked.
-
People in this thread are still having issues....
https://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/index.php/topic,409297.0.html
and one of my squadmates is having trouble as well.

Maybe some. I DLed it.
But I also have an older copy of the same , just in case

I found that if I delete this file I can get the first AH screen to run, but as soon as video settings comes up it freezes. If this file exist you get a white window
C:\Users\<withheld>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\WebCache\V010006F.log
This is a temp file that is renamed each time. So it won't be the same exact name I show
I'm starting to think it's the IP, and since we can't get ANY answers <shrug>
I'll give it 2 more days then I just close my account and move on. This is nonsense.

2 more days over a holiday weekend? Seems kind of unreasonable. Hope you don't leave for that, but your mind seems made up. Today would have been a good day to call HTC, earlier obviously.

It's been 8 days since new IP. These posts have been up for 2 days. Email sent 2 days ago. ZERO. I have not made up my mind, but not being able to play nor finish videos is the same as leaving. The only difference WE are paying to not being able to play. What's the difference? People can only take so much.
But ya I get your point.
I guess someone call him, I'm way too pissed off for that.

My gut feeling is it's checking for updates, since it's built to update itself. IP would certain pork that. He may have to make a new FE, I assume the IP is hard coded in. Just guessing

I don't think so, servers have names like gs5.hitechcreations.com

FIXED by BigR
https://1drv.ms/f/s!AltRky2wvf_ygdNggCHMvPByndQ3F
go to this link and download the file. Place it in the Aces High III directory with the .exe files.
After some experimentation, i narrowed it down to the stdshape.res file which is generated after install. So it will not be in a fresh copy of the game. Something is going wrong with that for new installs. It probably is IP related. Some process within the game is calling to an old address when its generating that file. Just my guess. I could be totally wrong.
Hopefully that file works. Its a 2gb download from my working game directory.

I get a page cant be found error.
So you saying that the stdshape.res" file needs to be added to the main folder of the game and it will boot up correctly?
