I had not run Aces High 3 in a while. When I tried to start the application, it gave me an error message that VCOMP140.dll was missing. The suggested solution was to uninstall/resinstall the application. Aces High 3 setup tries to install Visual Studio 2017, but fails because a newer version is installed (which can be confirmed by seeing the VCOMP140.dll is in the system 32 folder). I don't want to break my windows install by trying to revert to an earlier Visual Studio version. So, I am kind of stuck.

I uninstalled the newer Visual Studio, installed the 2015 version, then was able to install/run AH3. I had copied the folder before uninstalling AH3, so I was able to restore everything exactly the way it was with minimal effort: control maps, terrains, skins, etc. Now to see if updates break it again.

Patched back up to latest versions of Visual Studio.
Everything is working normally and was able to join Main Arena.

Excellent troubleshooting!
