Even though I realize most of you are going to do it completely all wrong…do it anyway! You don’t get to squeak and moan if you don’t participate.
It is an extraordinary privilege that we are afforded and it’s your single greatest individual power.

Hoping for an epic evening like 2016 but don't think our efficient system will have them counted before the weekend..somehow it's taking longer each election for the results..how odd..

Yeah, because someone wouldn't concede and kept trying to challenge results.

I am referring to the time it takes to get to such results..not challenging the legality of them
That's a guarantee from whatever side loses this time..just hoping that can be done peacefully

Because there were tons of calls to hand count ballots in various areas as well as trying to "find votes". Election subversion will only be worse this time around.

It was certainly a dangerous precedent that was set by the losing party of 2020.
-
The precedent was set long ago but most prominently in 2000.

Some states only count the early votes after the night of votes and that takes way too long.

With numbers approaching 150,000,000 ballots, I am amazed they all get counted in November.

The scale has tilted since 2000, 2016 to bizarro. We are all aware why, it doesn't fit under a rug.

I have mixed feelings about this election. I might be okay with going over the edge sooner rather than later.

If you live in illinois, your vote dont count if you live outside of chicago. Need to split the state and let chicago be all by itself and let the rest of the state live a normal life

Maybe a simpler solution... Just go with the national popular vote.

So CA and NY can decide the election every cycle? Next thing you know you sore losers will want to pack the SCOTUS, too. Whoops, too late. Then again, you guys aren't big fans of our Founders or the Constitution either ...

Why is that, and which states would you be referring to?

Our election process is ridiculously insecure. It is not surprising that a majority of Americans don't trust it to be free from substantial fraud.
209 of the 227 countries for which the ACE Electoral Knowledge Network has data use hand-marked paper ballots. Including France, Canada, Finland, Germany, Ireland, Japan, Netherlands, Norway, Spain, and UK. Because hand marking is less susceptible to machine-completed ballots.
Many of countries (Canada, France, Germany, Israel, Italy, Sweden, UK, etc.) require ID to vote. Because no ID means you can't verify that the person is eligible to vote.
Many of them have one voting day, count the ballots, and have the results the next day. Because less time for the voting process gives less time for manipulation.
The least-vulnerable system is hand-marked paper ballots, cast in person, with ID, on one voting day, and counted that night.
Best system in my opinion would be that, with voting day being a national holiday that makes it easier to vote on that day.

It was certainly a dangerous precedent that was set by the losing party of 2020.
Waaaaaay longer than since 2020.
See "Deliver the Vote: A History of Election Fraud, an American Political Tradition – 1742-2004", by Tracy Campbell. Or "Disputed presidential elections: A guide to 200 years of ballot box ugliness" in Washington Post.
Just a few past examples of claims:
2000 Gore and democrats talking about hanging chads.
2016 Clinton and democrats: "knows he’s an illegitimate president.... many varying tactics they used, from voter suppression and voter purging to hacking to the false stories.... I know he knows this wasn’t on the level."
2020 Trump and republicans talking about ballot stuffing, voting machines, etc.
My feeling is that our election system is so vulnerable, the motivation is so large, and the odds of getting penalized are so low, that there is about 100% probability that vote fraud happens in every election.

Indonesia (205M voters) does it in one night.
Brazil (119M voters) does it in one night.
France (50M voters) does it in one night.
If you can do it in a night in one precinct, you can do it in the same night in N precincts, where each precinct has its workers.
It's not the counting that delays the US. It's the other parts of the process, such as mail-in ballot process.

Maybe a simpler solution... Just go with the national popular vote.
Only requires a modification to a bunch of the Constitution to change the US from being a republic.
The Founders did a lot of reasoning regarding republic vs. democracy. It wasn't a haphazard choice. Discussed at length in several Federalist Papers: 10, 14, 51.

Just like what germany did in the 30's?

If a state, any state, can provide the results within hours after the polls close on Tuesday..see Florida...I can't see nor believe there are legitimate reasons that everyone shouldn't be able to..

We voted by paper and it was scanned right in. Easy peasy. No reason this shouldn't be the norm for the rest of the country. Electronic machines are sketchy. They should actually have the ballot counted the second it gets scanned. So by 8pm, all they'd have to do is send their results in to the state election board which tallies all the counties and boom, done by 9pm.
With the technology we have today. It shouldn't be hard.

That would mean California and New York would decide every national election. BTW Texas will soon be on that list as well.

Before telephones, cars, airplanes, etc... there was less connectivity between the States. People throughout the country wanted their own style of living determined only by themselves, within the framework of the Constitution. Distinctions between States mean much less today. Good or bad it is not going away without a complete rewrite of the Constitution. Illegal violation of that Constitution can negate the bonds that make our States a union.
-
Smaller states are protected from the complete domination of larger states by our Constitution. If you would eliminate those protections then you must first allow those who do not agree to peacefully secede. IMO.

should start once the primaries are confirmed and are open until 8am on voting day ...as then they aren't early anymore...
Manipulated processes including not requiring an ID to cast a vote in many states..though your library, Costco and Sam's to name a few, all require id's...have created doubt about the results and rightfully so imo
