I recently added a second ssd nvme m.2 to my MSI 1710A G5 mb. Doing so disabled 2 SATA ports, leaving the option of disconnecting SATA cable of CD player, leaving HDD's remaining connected to active ports. Are there splitters, or other options to get CD connected to MB?
A humble thanks for assistance shall be given in advance.

What about a sata to usb adapter?

If you have a free pci-e slot (short one is sufficient) there's sata adapters available.

Yup.... adapt.
I actually use a portable cd/Blu-ray that connects USB. Just for the rare time I may need it.

Ports and slots are full. Looks like the adapter is the solution. Thanks for the help

Instead of an adapter, how about a USB DVD player?

When I built my new computer, I realized that it didn't have a slot for a DVD drive. Which I actually like. It allows more room to hide the cables. I purchased a DVD player that plugs into the 3.0 USB port. Works great. UH, shortest USB cord known to man.
