Sheared the left main gear. Not much the pilot could do after that. I'm hopeful that there is a black box they can check for flight data to either confirm or deny a hard landing claim.

not sure how accurate the report is, but they said on the local news that the landing gear failed to deploy properly.
The pilot was killed - and Vince Neil's girlfriend was injured.

I only saw one local (to the crash local) news report and the video showed what looked like the entire left main gear on the ground. That takes a significant amount of force and or the failure of the mounting location. I'm curious what they find in the investigation. The video was too poor quality to show something like a hard landing.

The pilot was a retired SWA Captain, with a lot of Lear time.
