A Bish player posted Position of BB64 on 200.It is a prize boat and if sunk goes back to other side.
Kongkyuk questions my integrity then does this.I think he should be suspended. Screenshots sent to Dale

Hitechs word on this from 2011....
So everyone understands HTC's position. If you change sides to find and kill a country's CV or if you announce your countries CV position just to grief your own country, If HTC finds or is given proof about it.
You will at a minimum be muted for 1 week.
HiTech
Now, does he feel the same these days, dont know.
So while giving away the location of a CV is "bad", hiding a CV is just as bad as far as Im concerned. We are here to play a game and hiding assets that PROMOTE game play is just not right. You want to save a CV from being recaptured.... sit your butt in a gun, of fly a cap on it, but dont hide it.

Agreed.

I have no problems finding CV's because I know how to look for them.
If I'm not aware of a certain ship, I will fly the periphery of the map in a fighter and wait for the puffy ack.
Sometimes, all you have to do is spawn a PT boat at a few spawns to find a CV.
If I switch sides, I leave that country alone for a couple of hours.

Totally agree with you that hiding them is lame. However hiding them is to be more the common and "expected" game play and hiding them does have some logistical advantages.
you CAN driver a cv out to the end of the map and I am almost positive you wont be reprimanded doing so.
Releasing their position on 200 is out of bounds. There is a reason that the other 2 countries do not have access of their position. Most players playing mercenary (auto switch) are very good at not releasing either.
On another note. I asked this in the MA a while back but never able to get a response. Can a TG have waypoints that go off the map? Just asking when I was hunting one a whiile back

No

I think more info is needed. If I'm a rook and I see some "hidden" cv and egg it and find it belongs to knits instead of the bish hiding it - would be ok as a rook to report a bish-owned knit cv's position? You know, so knits can try and get it back?
If someone switched countries to find a hidden cv or ratted one out then switched sides it would be a low integrity action, yeah.

Understood, however Most people play this game as a game and using real life/hardnose tactical moves like hiding a CV is foolish to most. Even pulling a CV out of a battle area because it might get sunk falls under the same category for many. It is there as a mobile airfield so use it.
-
Hiding task groups is so childish. I move them whenever I see it unless we are trying to sneak one off to a faraway strat.

Totally agree. However hiding them is the norm. I love hunting buffs that are hunting them.
Very lame though (not speaking through paranoia) but its obvious some have shades to hunt them down which to me is REALLY lame

No
this is fantastic news. Good to know when I hunt them down.
Now can this rule apply to off map flyers?

Caine, did you have control of the BB? Were you asked to release it?? Did you refuse, with an explanation?
-
I have a solution, those whom use the auto switch function are not allowed to take control of a task group. It may upset the fleet admirals such as Caine, but I believe it would work.
-
There is always some conflict between gaming the game and the simulation side of AH.
Putting CVs at a port so they can resup guns as fast as you shoot them down was one of the worst.
I do support a harsh muting ban if cross country task force locations are proven. I would include Auto country balance restrictions with that ban.
-
I once told someone where the orange trees were.
Was that wrong?

Sadly that's not a solution to the OP's problem, this would not prevent the location being posted to cross-sides channel 200

I suspect OP was playing grab arse trying to hide it while another player wanted to be more productive with it. Almost every contentious situation regarding a task group somehow involves OP.

Do all the maps have ships?
I could live without them

Carriers should not be allowed to turn while I'm taking off. I thought I screwed up my stick settings or discovered a new bug.
-

Pretty good chance we ran into each other as I was doing exactly that. I don't mind hunting them.

I switched to Bish dropping out of auto switch. We had lost port to BB64 I took control of boat that no one was using and sent it north. Kongkyuk" a bish" became enraged and posted on 200 boats position. I have sent multiple screen shots to Dale.I if there ever was a time to send a boat to safer area this was it.I don't post on 200 boats position when I am on auto switch if nothing is done could be the time to start
-
Carriers will likely never again reach the strats because high ranking players take control of them just to send them to the same old predictable courses over and over.
-
Do all the maps have ships?
Northco doesn't have ships, (though I have added them to a revised version that may or may not replace the original).
-
All of my maps have CV/BB's, so far.
-

Depends on if a GV was under it. :)

What!?!
I can't even look at you right now.

Caine is an auto switch player that always moves and hides the teams cv's he's playing for then when the switch occurs he knows all the locations and the teams sink them.
He also helps to take bases but in the middle of taking bases, if he gets switched to the team being attacked, he then stops the attack!? This game play is unethical. So he should be the last one to complain about other players.
If you select to auto switch then you should not have access to cv control.
-
He was hiding it from the enemy, since the enemy now owned the port. If sunk, the boat would go to the enemy. Hiding boats like this happens a lot.
-

I totally agree, and have made this suggestion before.
That having been said, I was there for part of the badinage between caine and kongkyuk. Kong did it solely to annoy caine, (and it worked), very childish of him.
And THAT having been said, I disagree with the people who say hiding stolen task groups is lame. Many if not most play for team and an eventual map win, and moving one TG out of action on a map in which there are over ten doesn't affect the conflict dynamic at all. It even makes the game more interesting for players like me because of the "where did the BB go, it would be awesome if I found and sunk it and we get it back and wouldn't the hider be pissed" thing. :lol

Your solution doesn't work since I was not on auto switch and was Bish.

This post is a complete lie. If true post your film

90% of the time you are on autoswitch and I'm sure you were before you went six hour perma-bish for whatever reason you had at the time. It's why this whole issue got started--Kong's not the first person to accuse you of using intel you gleaned from autoswitch re:ship positions to hunt and sink (or at least be prepared for) an enemy TG attack. I've accused you of that before myself.
It's a delicate point. I don't autoswitch; but if I did, I'd try my best to come into the temporary new side tablua rasa. "I know where ominous enemy boat is; but would I have known or figured it out if I were coming in afresh?" If someone held a knife to my throat and forced me to give an honest opinion on the matter, I'd probably say "Yeah, I do think caine uses what he remembers vs what he would have figured out." I easily could be wrong. But that's what I believe. And I'm not the only one.
Simplest solution is to deny boat commanding privileges to autoswitchers. The boat commanding thing has certainly been abused before by players who wanted to control a team resource for personal benefit, like shelling down a factory to get a safe and easy achievement when players who actually allied to the team in question wanted to use that boat in an attack elsewhere. And there is the suspicion--even if undeserved, it is divisive--that you use intel you would not have otherwise have had when you do switch sides.
Denying boat command privileges to players on autoswitch would go a long way towards fixing this.

I had been Bish before going to bed when we took port sank cv13, BB64 and I sent BB64 north. In my morning signed on saw port gone cv13 lost and BB 64 near a strat, not being used. On kongkyuk commenting on taking control I went Bish.
So if I send a boat to safety, I am violating some code of honor of yours and where is it posted never mind the fact, I had been Bish for over 6 hours.
If you find my actions so questionable man, up put your name on boat and set its course this can be done even after I auto switch
To those who whine it's to be used as a weapon I wager my field gunner score is far larger than yours
Last but not least please post film of my auto switch and sinking boats. Never mind I don't know from sortie-to-sortie which country I will be on and most ships course are hours long
-
You guys will never experience the fun to be had zeroing enemy strats with a bunch of heavy fighters because the ships are sent to the same spots over and over.
I feel you have to remain with any CV you command.
Also……it seems none here understand how the ships react to course changes.
If they knew, they wouldn’t flood it with course changes commands.
So……I’m not sure I will be sharing the locations of enemy CV i have found because every announcement guarantees a bunch of people inputting commands from 9 sectors away and we lose a CV that was was only a couple more shots from destroying the enemy task group.

Maybe require anyone taking command of a TG to be on the boat, and limit the command time to some figure, maybe an hour. But the idea to restrict Auto Switchers from taking command is still step in the right direction.

OK take away auto switchers control of Cv's and make it ok to post on 200 their locations. Let's go back to high eny to rid us of auto switchers. Let the vocal minority rule ala GHI Rule change on the IL2

Cane, like it or not, being able to command a TG while your on Auto Switch is just illogical. Surely you can see that? As to the exposing your countries TG locations on 200, I think that is fundamentally wrong as well.

You are deliberately overcomplicating this. No one ever said it's okay to post TG positions on 200.
Ever.
We'll exclude kongkyuk in this discussion because he's an idiot savant with a reasonable concern, that many other players, rightly or wrongly, share.
What is your actual, reasonable, LOGICAL argument concerning whether or not side switchers should have the right to control TGs they have no long-term team interest in?
