My normal grocery receipt doubled. He takes the office, the reins, and holds the lead horse. Whatever.
I buy eggs because I live on them, especially in the morning. Now, they cost nearly $25.00 for a box of 30! WTF??!
Says inflation is too high, I'll bring it to a much better rate.
the toejam just gos' to the moon after he signs into office! LMAO I coulda done that too!
I need a better insurance plan that covers my eyes after exploding from blood pressure!

Killing chickens by the 10's of 1000's will do that...
Price won't drop over night..I think it's still on the rise..takes a while for a chick to become a chicken and provide eggs regularly
As for the economy it's you can still blame the last batch of jokers for that...100 days can't fix 4 years of crazy

I decided to get some hens again for eggs. Haven't had chickens for 20 years. Got the chicks last week and they should be ready aug/sept. Just need to get the coop built in the next month or 2. Just need to buy plywood, already had the 2x4 and 4x4 from previous projects

Have you ever just bought pullets ready to lay? I know that is more expensive but I was wondering about the trade-off. Less hassle, immediate production.
At some point I want layers out at my land.
Ever consider raising meat rabbits?

I couldn't find any which is why I bought the chicks. The chicken swap meets have been cancelled because of the bird flu.
I do have some rabbits but not meat rabbits. More of they were adopted by the kids but I take care of them.

I grew up on a farm and my CHore every morning, sometimes noon, and always at night was to feed the horse, next to the cows, my Dad would get along with making sure the 3-5 pigs we raised every year were fed also! I will never forget our flock of chickens and at times and then my Mom got us guinea hens to raise. The best tasting bird we ever raised!
I grew up with a Manure pile the size of a few buses in back of the shop, my dad would turn over with the bucket loader weekly.
ok thanks

Ya sick chickens that the poultry factories did not manage on their own. But we wouldn't want to regulate them.
The good news.. if the bird flu ain't gonna get you, the measles is stepping up to help.

Amazing what 4 years of poor management can do to a place...

40 million chickens destroyed, no Lab confirmation is what I read.

I grew up around/on a farm, with chickens too. Also raised Black Angus, Pigs, work horses, Arabian and quarter horses, snd thats the short list.
No intent involved, but someone who has, can notice someone who hasn’t.
Veterinary care (for both the animal and your safety) when you’re talking 500k chickens just on one farm would cost a fortune to handle and diagnose every bird. Not only that but a lot of false positives as its just not detectable yet. Took covid 2 weeks before it could be detected, the entire farm has to be sanitized. Many viruses are like that. They have to start from egg all iver again from uninfected chickens. They had to be killed.
Would you eat a chicken out of a pen that had infections?
The people/scientist who were working on a veterinary solution were just fired. Now double the pain. Its reality.
In 6mos - 1yr, some won’t be speaking the same.
Dozen eggs is $6.89 here

I've been glad I don't eat eggs these last couple of years. Wife does so it's a luxury we endure. We just don't eat out so much.

Now that Boss M and Unberboss T have started an economic war on all your former allies, I hope you'll be able to afford to eat.
Good luck. BTW eggs are still $3.50 a dozen where I live.

So when all of these countries have tarrifs on Americans goods, that's not an economic war? Are they really "allies" if they can't rob Americans for their safety and security and tarrif our products for their countries benefit? Some allies...BTW, America has been in a trade war since 1990 when they decided it was fine to let all our businesses move to China and India to skirt our regulations and taxes. The time of being taken advantage by so called "friends" is over.
Here's an analogy. You give your friend $100 out of your paycheck every month as a courtesy. Then, times get harder for you, you have more bills and baby now, so it's getting tougher to send that $100 but you do it any way. Then you find out your friend is using that money on strip clubs. So then you decide to cut your friend off because you need that $100 a lot more now anyway. Then your friend say, we'll I'm not gonna be your friend anymore since I can't get that $100. Who looks like the bigger Ahole?
