Title: TM throttle TWCS problems
Post by: Randy1 on March 25, 2025, 01:56:32 PM
This is my second TWCS throttle to go bad. The sliding throttle gets a very jittery output at full throttle. If using WEP, it often drops out. In a GV, the GV will often just stop or slow to a crawl on flat ground.
Thrustmaster quality seems to be sliding backwards. Any suggestion for a new, reasonably priced throttle?

I fixed mine, its not hard to do. What happens is the rubber "o" ring that cushion the stops at full throttle and zero throttle get worn out and instead of stopping at the same spots they stay squished and you get that flutter. Go to a hardware store and get some "o" rings and just slide them on in place of the old ones. Think its like 8-10 screws to pop the bottom off and a few more to get enough room to get the end off the rods and slide on new rings. Took about 15-20 minutes.

First, thank you for the replies. Good stuff.
I think I have fixed it. It worked great last night.
Here is what I did. I had a piece of 14 gage wire on my work bench I bent it in a U shape with one long end. I hooked the U over the front of the sliding slot used for the throttle. Stuck it down with a piece of tape. The idea is to limit the forward travel a little bit. IN AH recalibrated the throttle. Then removed the U shaped metal wire. Worked smooth as glass.
