Title: VR issues
Post by: Prayer on March 27, 2025, 12:10:38 PM
Currently dealing with a issue where if the VR is taken off and set to the side during game play for more than 3 to 4 minutes it defaults me to regular monitor play and the VR needs to be reset and aces high reopened to get back to VR play. Frustrating issue.

This may not help.  Try leaving your headset on something so it can still maintain tracking.

On my Quest 2 I have a senor right between the eyes/screens on the headset. This is the sensor that notices if you remove the headset. Placing something over it (black tape) will fool the headset into not shutting down. For a few minutes, not a big deal, but leaving it on your desk still running over night..... Im thinking it would wear out the unit faster, but for the short run, I havent had any issues.

If you are using Steam & Mixed Reality go to Mixed Reality settings- Startup  Desktop- Input switching....select Manually switch using windows key + Y. Use this instead of "automatically switch using headset presence sensor.

Disable Auto VR mode swap under VR prefs.

If you're using a Quest download and install Sidequest and there is an option to turn off the proximity sensor (stops it detecting when you take your headset off).
