There is nothing wrong with how anyone plays this game at any hour of the day. The game does not stop. If a country decides to take every base their opponent can give away, that is their prerogative to do so. If a player decides to exploit a 3-story building, it is their prerogative to do so. If a player decides to fly off of the map to enemy strats, that is their prerogative to do so. If 19 players are in the MA and 15 of them are one side, that is their prerogative to do so.
The MA is static without the efforts of individuals who invest their time and money to keep it up and running. It is alive. It is organic.
Until Dale fundamentally changes the structure of the game, it is what it is. Enjoy it while it last. If your experience sucks, get good

What if they already are "good", what then?

I have to disagree a little bit there. The gameplay can be abused and it does infact affect players staying in the game. Sure sure, people's actions in the game make the game turn and keeps it non static, but it may not be right for game play overall, and it reduces overall players rather than build them. Does the 20 player morning hoard help the gameplay. No. But it makes the game appear to be alive from the outside. Pretending that actions don't run players off is why so many have been run off...
There is a reason I harp against too many good players flying Temps and super E planes. They run players off over time because they are boring to fight against. If I took this game super super seriously and only flew the Tempest every sortie. Do you think it would be fun for anyone I killed? I'd fly so high and fast and run from everything, it would be super lame for the arena but I'd be #1 every tour with a 20 k/d. Now imagine if every one flew them to compensate. It would be as boring as ever. And unfortunately that's where a lot of players are now and it just creates a boring fighting atmosphere for a lot of players. Who wants to fight Temps and 262s every sortie?
Gameplay does make a difference in #s. Maps make a difference. People should he cognizant about how their playing the game might effect #s. Even tho the game is bascially do anything you want, it does infact have consequences over the player #s in some way. You can either be someone who wants to create good engagements with other players, or you can be selfish and play the game that ruins it for other players. So far, most players just play the game selfishly, and thays why so many have left. Selfish players can have fun playing by themselves and that's what we see in the morning.

It's why some of us look forward to MNM as it offers an alternative game play if just for an hour a week...
Looking forward to the new war Jaeger1 is setting up for Sunday!!
In the meantime in ma go auto assign and fly towards the largest red dar bar in your favorite lw ride and fly until you die and not feel guilty about it .. :joystick:

If you fly a tempest super high, a yak9u will be waiting.

The only thing I hope for when I log on is a large number of enemy aircraft in 1 area, regardless of the number of friendlies in the area, I’ll be flying head long into the Mob with my A8 :rock

Same here MDStampf, I enjoy flying the Brew no matter what the enemy flies or the fight result.... :salute

You're right. There's not much wrong with the game...it's something wrong with the players :neener:

The Brews and A8s are a lot more admirable than Niks and D9s :old:

When my mission is to move mud and I work against overwhelming odds and folks without the same insane drive to win as I do you bet I get frustrated. At the end of the day when the dust settles my love and appreciation always come back the next day. It's a true addiction and I have no shame to admit it. The game is what it is today. People want to win at whatever they do and there is a lot of freedom to reach that end regardless of the ethical standards to get there. I have really been practicing accepting where the game is today and how people chose to play. It's a fine place to be
The furthest I'm willing to go in regards to giving myself an "edge" is paying for a 2nd account to maximize my time investment. I use that account on the same country as my primary so no foul play. I dont have to cheat to win.
I stopped using that 2nd account for 2 reasons. 1 was to bring back a former player and the other to silently show the whiners that I heard their complaints.
That time ends in June when I move back to civilization. No more 140 ping on country wifi internet. No more shoot me down and not have to worry about that other set. This summer, FineTyme and GOAT will once again dominate the skies of Aces High :x

I have to disagree on a tank in a three-story building. That is very misbalanced game play. The tank in the building can shot through the wall but a tank outside the building cannot shoot through the same wall.
Same with spotting a GV under a tree from a plane. Three players I know of can see any GV hidden anywhere, anytime.

until Dale makes those changes to fix these kind of exploits or comes out and declares a witch hunt against those who do exploit these things it's fair game for those players who practice that kind of play.

I fly the D9 because of what others fly. Kinda dumb to take a soit1 up against temp, LAs and Niks. Ya can only adjust so much

How did that work on my P38?

If you fly a Tempest super high, you are also a luffmoink. If you blow all you advantage and run to your field or CV acks...you are a Super Luffmoink :neener:

This feeds on itself too. I found myself flying those same planes so I'd at least have a chance to chase something down.

Yes, which I mentioned. It's chasers chasing chasers chasing chasers
But that is the easy and dare I say lazy way. The skilled way is to fly earlier models and learn how to set up attacks on those planes and also how to suck them in and reverse them for an overshoot kill. This way you can fly planes that are good at turning too, rather than having to run from every plane. I'm not a huge fan of spit16s, la7s, and Niks too, because I find those to be lazier turn n burns with super cannons that end your sortie instantly, albeit a little more fun to tango with atleast than a stupid 190D. While I understand there should be planes for actual noobs to fly to get them some kind of chance. It seems many of them don't want to graduate into something that takes a little more skill and effort to be successful. It's why I do wish those top 10 eny fighters had a 3-5 perk hit.
-
I would argue that the 190D is not an easy mode plane… sure it is if you’re just going to run away from everything, but to fly it effectively in a swarm of late war allied planes takes skill.

I agree. I've had some white knuckled fights 1vs1 with ponies on the deck while flying one.
-
Well considering the 190D is a top 5 killer every tour, I'd have to disagree. 500 cannons, one of the fastest climber, accelerator and divers in the game. Nose cannons that make it extremely deadly. Flying into a hoard by yourself is one thing, fighting on the deck in a 1v1 is very rare with a 190D and isn't what most do. It's one of worst pickers and annoyance planes. Then the floppy fish when you do get their 6...BnZ, the easiest style. Just a boring experience engaging with them. I've realized over the years that too many of these planes just dont produce that great of gameplay for others and make it a much tougher game overall.
-
I think it's more the pile-its the planes. Any plane that's flown as B&Z with floppy fish defence is boring to me.
Stall fighting a pony on the desk with one is exciting to me. Hanging it on the prop and watching the ponies nose come up and just as you think he's about to shoot roll and pull ever so gently to spoil his shot. Watch his nose start to drop, roll it over with the flaps out and drop for him for the kill. And then miss.... and be defenseive and hanging on the prop again lolz.

As I've been saying, a great pilot in a great plane is far more impactful than a great pilot in a inferior plane.
While your example is a truely a fun experience. That is a rarity. 90% of the arena isn't dog fighting in P51Ds and 190Ds. I wish they were... most don't know how to, and they use the very late war planes as a crutch to avoid those tough situations they would find themselves in if they were in an older plane.

Most of that can be applied to a lot of AC. I guarantee you I will TnB in a D9, it's not like the A5 with flaps out, but I'm in til I'm dead.
I think if you look at my actual score, it's not like D9 suddenly made me an ace pilot of the game, nor did the P51. The new VKB stick made me a lil better.
A P-51, this takes someone very skilled in it to do something besides BnZ. It will not make someone not tuned into it a champion.
Players running doesn't bother me, various moving parts, but some will only assume it's running from a fight. Could have damage, no ammo, running from a 3-1, actually extending, or he simply wants to land his kills.
When I "run" I am extending, as soon as you're 1500 -2k away or turn around I'm going to flip on ya, I got my E back.
It's really all POV on plane selection.
I resorted to D9 from the A5 because I got fed up with AC like Typhs, Mossies, P-47s and 109s HOing. I need nose cannons.
Wing guns are a PITA for me, always waiting for that convergence box.
It really does come down to the pilot tho, IMO
-
I remember I was getting frustrated by the HOs so I got a mossie and starting "winning" as Charly Sheen would say.
-
animl, I think you should fly in my plane and record some sorties with me. Since you are good with the film, I think we could make some great films and I think you'd learn a lot, especially avoiding the HO. It would be great from a training perspective. To see how its done in non BnZ planes inferior planes. That is really what I want to promote the most because that is the jedi way. :aok

I know how to avoid HOs and use variations of immelmann turn/loop. I will get on their 6. I just spite the hell out of them, making an HOer lose has gratifications. lol I don't fly like I used to, I fly pretty loose and and not really concentrating much. Therefore a lil heavy handed on the stick, why I need canons, to make at least a few rounds count. I'm rarely online long enough to get truly warmed up like I was in the old days playing 6-12 hrs per day.
But hell, I'd fly with ya just to fly with ya....I'll wing with anyone. Every minute is a learning experience, and will be until the end. Like sound, ya never stop learning, it's eternal.
I don't have to fly with you to make films tho. You give me the film and I'll turn it into a video. Sometimes using trails is good for that kind of stuff. We can chat about it. But ya, now that I learn Vegas, and the AH FV, things go much smoother than when I started green. Much easier, better quality, better editing than my first 3-5. I'm finally comfortable with it.

Well flying with me will show you a different perspective i can give you in real time to analyze certain engagements. Its more unique than just sending you a video. i mean joining in my cockpit watching. Which i know isn't as exciting but its about understanding my timing, awarenes, and techniques at the time. I'm not judging your score at all, but I do believe I can help you refine your acm understanding a bit. Especially in planes that you'd think wouldn't stand a chance in today's environment.

Only if you promise to HO and not to lead turn.
