I'm trying to figure if there is a way to use the throttle with a different stick then the original stick that came with it. I haven't experimented with it yet. I figured somebody might have gone down this trail already so I figured I'd ask.
Thanks in advance.

I had an X52 years ago. If the throttle has a USB connector then yes. If it is a special connector that plugs into the stick then no.
Just read, the throttle can be stand alone, the stick not.

Yes. I used the throttle with a VKB for a while.

You have to hook both up as the throttle won't work without being connected to the jstick..I think
Just push the x52 jstick out of the way and use whatever other one you want to..just map that one in ah

Utoh. The problem is I don't have the cable that connects the two together. It got lost somewhere. That means I'm out of luck?

Try it and see. If it shows up working in your game controllers you're good to go.

Ya, I will. I just wanted to check before I started digging through my storage trying to find it.

What has grown in popularity in recent years is HOSAS. If I had to guess it would be that Star Citizen and maybe Elite Dangerous are spurring that trend.

VKB Stick - X52 Throttle here, works great.
To setup controls make sure it's set to the right control you're working with AH stick selection.

No, just use a separate USB port for each,... better if you have a USB hub

No, you can use the throttle and a different joystick that has a standalone USB cable.

Ok. Thanks for all the info. I plan to go digging today if I get some time :)

I verified with images that the x52 throttle has the USB connector and it's jstick is connected to it with the din pin cable..
So you shouldn't need the x52 jstick on the desk as other stated just hookup your other jstick..powered USB hub is always my option..
Good luck

If its the same cable from the x52 throttle to the joystick, all it is is a 6 pin mini din cable. Not a special one, but a regular one. I lost mine a long time ago and had to order a new one off ebay for $3. It worked perfectly.

Alrighty then

Thanks. That's good to know as I might find the stick too when I go digging through my storage bins.
