Seriously. Really?
Context was that capera (who is doing better, but still has some work to do) and 000trapr were having issues on 200. I chimed in that cap shouldn't be surprised that he's a 200 target (in very innocuous words, honestly) given his past and he told me to mind my own business.
Fair enough.
I then said the "Humanity is my business!" thing as a 200 Parthian shot and was about to do a strat run or something but got warned by a mod.
And so I logged.
Not a fan of capera but we do see eye to eye on some things. I'll paste something he said recently on a locked thread...here:
"I get the suggestion to go to HiTech, but it’s a dead end. He knows exactly what his moderators are doing and chooses not to act. I’ve spoken with him about this before, and he was very clear: his mods will not tolerate being questioned. That’s why I’m bringing it up here—because this is our community. The MA is our playground, so to speak. If we want to keep it from completely dying, we need to deal with the negativity ourselves.
Yeah, yeah, I get it—my past behaviour hasn’t exactly been stellar. But I’ve owned that, and I’ve worked to fix it. I’m not here pointing fingers to stir the pot. The mod thing certainly drove me away today. I'm now petting my dog and listening to music on YouTube when I otherwise would have been adding to the game numbers and dynamics. My dog's happy about it. But HiTech shouldn't be.

I saw. You and skyhawk were going at it all day, too. I guess the mod wanted to cut things off before someone got ramped up.
I bet you just got a "calm down" warning. All you had to do was realize why (you have not, it seems) and... calm down.
Y'all get real huffy over warnings, lofl. Could be worse, could be people abusing the .rpt on you...amirite?

Can't say I'm surprised. As I think everybody knows the reason I left was for the mod giving me a language warning for using the word "pissed" and it ended up being the last straw for me.
Funny thing is that in all the online games I have played over the years I have never received a warning of any kind but in this one it happened to me numerous times while other players would go on and on about stuff that was much worse without a mute. Sadly after all the complaints and no changes I suspect that like all of the other things that have been brought up in this game that nothing will change.

Sorry, same subject, same usual suspects, none of which have an innocent reputation, always looking for that white line they were already shown, more than once. Its not #1 its #101.
The way I see the tough guy chat, if people were as tough as they act they would not crumble to warnings. This is thin skinned stuff. You’re either tough or you’re not.
Actually posting here knowingly solves zero, you all know where it belongs.
Repeat convo, some retain, some repeat. It will be repeated.

I logged on, saw the bantering on 200 (nothing awful, I thought) and chimed in. I thought the Marley quote to Scrooge was appropriate and funny and ended with that (again, I thought). I literally made two posts. If a mod has to go into hyperdrive because of stuff like that I'll come back later after he has maybe drunk himself to sleep or gone off to bed with his boyfriend and have a fun game where we can banter mildly back and forth as we shoot each other down. End of story.
And HazMat, you're not back? Someone using your nick is shooting people down with surprising ease and bombing what-I-thought-to-be hidden GVs quickly and accurately. Skyrr, maybe?

Nah, I'm currently tied up in one of those "other games" trying to figure out how to manage those early cold war jets. Just got myself an early model A4 squad vehicle but I don't have the mods yet to carry sidewinders.
That was my first suspect when I heard somebody was using the same call sign that I used to use.

Either/or. But both could be simultaneously possible, glad you picked up on that.
Just saying the mod was overzealous to the extreme. He/She has whatever power HiTech bestows upon them in the game. Drunk and "otherwise oriented" are almost charitable ways to refer to this. But, yeah, it's (use your own euphemism here)...

The mods have biases and are free to use their discretion on what they will warn or ban for. I got chat banned yesterday because someone had asked why the Tempest hasnt been updated yet. I said "Because the game has absent ownership." A bit trigger happy on the ban button if you ask me.
You expect them to maintain good order and discipline, but they let so much garbage go and then ban for the pettiest reasons.

With the community numbering under 300, the mods are obsolete. The community can police itself under 300 and a word from well known and respected player can clear any situation on 200.
I guess that the mods are currently acting irrationally and heavy handedly to justify their existence and position in the game, so don't take their actions as a personal slight. They're probably not long away from losing whatever gift HiTech is currently giving them.

how about just be nice to each other. i get it, not everyone sees eye to eye. if you wouldn't say it to your mom, don't say it. pretty simple. I also understated that the mods are sometimes a little overzealous. just deal with it or shut off 200 and then you wont ever have to deal with it.

I always considered it like we're sort of playing in Dales house so he has some say in how things run. He can't monitor it so has helpers to assist in the way he wants it managed.
I for one will always be on the Moderators side. It's a thankless job but here's a Thanks to them for what they do.
You control how you react to things.
Just my opinion though. Imagine if there were no Mods? You honestly think that would be better?? Of course it wouldn't.

I think I've come up with a solution! Make everybody a mod. If everybody had to ability to mute people then we wouldn't have any problems on 200 because everyone would end up muted!
One thing I found fascinating about being muted is that you can't even do a check 6 on a friendly when muted. I guess that makes sense to somebody.

I always find it funny that its the same 3-4 people complaining about the MODs. The other several hundred of us seem to get by just fine. I wonder why that is? :devil

200 used to be one of the main attractions for me in AH3. I enjoyed reading the comments there and the back and forth for the most part was pretty harmless. I guess over time that has changed and most of the exchanges there have become toxic or from a player that the mods don't like?(when I say the mods don't like, I tested this theory) I made a shade account and said almost exactly the same stuff on that account that I said on my main account without ever getting a warning or a mute. At least for me the mutes and warnings were focused on who was saying it, not so much what they were saying.
It looks to me like many other things here, the game has divided into two camps.
One camp that loves the status quo and the mods can do no wrong. Any player who questions a mod is a bad guy and should go away. Also, any player that questions the subscription model or the maps or anything else about the game is bad and should go away. (I get the feeling these guys are getting their wish as people seem to be going away)
The other side is always trying to come up with solutions to problems with the game. I've seen suggestions of map size, map rotation, subscription model changes, bringing back old players with free trials, questions about mods etc. (to me these guys seem to have a genuine interested in preserving the game) however they are under constant attack by the first group and their suggestions appear to be completely ignored. (and because of this they seem to be going away too)
My guess is that there will be no changes to the game and soon there will only be a few toxic players and fast draw mods left playing and at that point I really doubt many if any of the new players will stick around.
Oh well. It was a fun time for many years. <S> to those that are still around.

It's hilarious you think ch200 was ever a place exclusively for PLUR... the various (un)communications functions within the game reflect this.
I never understood why some weebz just can't seem to mentally filter out what they don't want to pay attention to, or use the appropriate tools to do so. Or understand the function of the mods and push back against them all butthurt.
