Title: Whats the requirements for winning the war perks?
Post by: haggerty on May 26, 2025, 01:36:46 AM
Not that I need any perks, but was baffled that I didnt get rewarded any after playing for 4 hours and helping in the capture of 20! bases in that time.  Made me wonder what the actual requirements are.

Always go to the source (and do the maths)  43,200 sec / 60 = 720 min /60 = 12 hrs  WarWinInCountryTime   <-- pretty clear, eh?

Side-switch timer is 6 hrs.  I'll let you find that.

Curious, how many perks do you get when your country wins the war?

You can get that easy in 1 109g2 or Ki61 sortie.  :aok

I could be wrong, but if I remember correctly, this requirement was instituted because people would switch sides just before the last base was captured to win the war.

This is why we see 24 bishops, 3 rook, and 2 knights every morning.

And they fail to get a win as often as not.   :noid :rofl

Each team has its large swing.  I think for the most part the players would like balance, but over the decades this game has created such a strong chess piece loyalty amongst the player base.  People are unwilling to balance the teams out as the player base dies off.  You'll see no bish on after midnight, the knights take over the overnight shift.  I've done quite a bit of time on auto-switch but the hatred it brings from all 3 teams is annoying.

While each team has their turn in "the bucket" - raw numbers cannot be ignored.  It's easier to do things when, even being double teamed, it's 20 v 25 v 30 than when it's 20 v 5 v 5 and those 20 are all-in vs one side.

I get no pleasure in hordes, flying with or against.  It's the unwillingness for all sides to balance out the action across fronts that makes me

There are numerous settings changes that can direct how the game is played, but they're unlikely to happen at this point due to potential unintended consequences.

Issue with auto assign is that it doesn't always put you on the side that has a decent battle going on..

Actually at 8pm eastern it seems to do the opposite..

<gasp!> No! Anything but that. Oh the humanity! <falls to knees sobbing uncontrollably> WHYyyyy!?!? The last one was found horrified and crying mini ice cubes in Siberia. Don’t forget to send us Christmas cards.

I don’t switch sides,.. frankly because I don’t like those mere peasants (phfff!).
I only fly 1-3 hrs per night, if I’m going to dispose of irreplaceable time out of my only life it’ll be with a well tuned group of frothing rabid degenerates, like myself. Besides, they have a Gofundme donations for resupply of lithium and bibs, we drool like a komodo dragons. Other than that, great guys.

Yep.  This is why 2+ accounts is better than auto assign.

True enough.  But if I announce my position, plane, altitude and destination, usually someone will come up to oppose me.  In fact, given the bait (hey, I heard that!), often there will be multiple people moving there, and then a both-sides fight develops.

We do need more mercenaries, though.

They won’t “come up to intercept” if they see a fighter icon.

Gone are the days of hunting ME163.

It's actually 75 perks, and that's a lot for an ordinary player if he's not been here for a decade and has saved up thousands of perks.
Remember, the arena median k/h in fighter mode was 2.2 last tour, so assuming one perk per kill on average, it would be worth like 10 hours of flying in fighter mode alone. Bomber and vehicle perks would add to that, though they are easier to come by. For the hypothetical 'median player' perks for resetting a map would be as much as for a whole month of ordinary AH gameplay-

25 perks per thingy..

I would only be interested in the fighter perks so just 25 for anyone playing like me..

Yes being here 4ever and flying the 109f and g2 much I have 1000's of fighter perks, I think close to 60k..

Should be a way to convert them to other perks and gift them to those who have less..

I have not looked in a long time... don't hardly fly... but at one time I had around 65000 fighter perks I believe. If you just fly and do not worry about them, they seem to add up fairly quickly.
