Out of the blue the other day, a player texted me, instructing me to tune to a particular radio channel.
I ignored it because I wasn't interested. A few minutes later, I was in a fight and the same guy's voice starts booming in my speakers with the same instructions and repeated them twice for good measure. It was louder than everyone else's vox and startled me enough to make me screw up and stall out on the deck. :bhead
Is there a way to prevent random people from barking orders at me, while I try to play?

Just tell them no, you are listening to music and cant communicate.

I don't think there's a way to block incoming vox other than remembering who it was and pre-emptively vsquelching them.

Bummer.

Bummer.
When the first word come over the radio type .squelch NAME and hit enter. It will squelch both his text and vox. Easy peasy. If you type fast, you may have him squelched by the end of his first sentence.

Also, you can run a script to squelch all irritants.

Scripts are awesome, you can use them for almost anything related to the game.

I was in the middle of a fight. I know about squelching. Wanted to know if there is a setting to block incoming private vox.
There used to be a "so and so wants to join your plane, do you accept" prompt. The same should be true for private vox.

I dont know about you, most of us shut that off as soon as we could. I know it certainly only screwed up one fight for me. Squelching does the same thing without an annoying pop up window.

IIRC, showjoin0 puts join requests in the text buffer. I would like the same thing, permission required for incoming vox. It's like caller id for telemarketers.
