OK, Im trying to setup my vr version of Aces High.
- I start the Meta Quest Link software
- I start my headset
- Open Navigator
- click on "Link PC"
- "use Air Link" is unchecked
- click on "PC Connected"
- click "Launch"
- The "apps" window opens
- under the Aces High app it says "limited Functionality"
- click on the Aces High app, I get the "loading" splash screen
- I get the Aces High splash screen and the center head window in the left eye, and a light blue background with the center head window in the right eye
When the game is "loading" I get a white window on my monitor screen and NO "do you want to use your Oculus". I did get the white window and the VR question once when I tried to load the game from my desktop, but every time after that it just loads the DX11 version of the game with no pop-up window.
5 seconds later the game crashes and Im returned to the apps page.
- I have uninstalled and reinstalled the game on my Quest 2
- I have checked my connections thru the Meta Quest app and all is working and is connected with a USB 3, all lights are "green"
- I install another app (Jurassic World "Blue") and it ran with no issues
So, where do I start to get this figured out? Ideas?
-
I'd start with the obvious: Do you have double video cards? If so, is AH assigned to the more powerful one?
Other than that, I've got no ideas.

Yes it is. The game works fine when I use the monitor, it only fails when I use VR.

I use a quest 2 with a laptop when out of town at the in-laws..
The quest app opens when the laptop boots up..
I have a controller out to use..
I hookup the usb-c link cable from the laptop to the headset
Putting the headset on I click the pop up to use the link cable clicking that with the quest controller..
Screen changes and shows some apps with AH in there but I take the headset off and click AH on my desktop to get AH going..
I get the prompt to use the the occulus headset which I click yes..
Putting the headset back on then I can continue into the game..
Hope that helps

I ordered a USB-C link cable earlier today thinking it might be necessary with Win11. I try your sequence once I have the new cable. Thanks

That one works OK for me but I will still recharge the headset with the USB charger..
Have seen some good deals on what look like the original occulus cable on eBay

Out of curiosity have you tried Airlink? I've only ever used it and have not had issues, but obviously it should work with USB too. I only launch from my desktop with mouse once my airlink is connected to the desktop.

Never used it..
I thought games run on the pc and not in the headset required the link cable..

It just connects to your desktop via wifi rather than the cable is all - I like it because with a battery pack I can walk around without taking the headset off, but both options should work the same. I was just curious if his issues were the same with Airlink to rule out a cable issue.

I had the same issues in another game.
I switched to using virtual desktop. Loads faster and is way clearer. Virtual Desktop is $20 on Meta App and then you download and install virtual desktop streamer app on your PC. Connects very quickly.
