Title: A change was made in the game
Post by: mERv on July 26, 2025, 04:59:11 PM
I’ve been absent for most of this tour due to personal reasons and have only made 3–5 short appearances in-game. During my recent sessions (yesterday and today), I’ve noticed unusual behavior with bomber drones that seems different from how they operated in the past.

Previously, drone response time when returning to default position was fast and consistent:

Pointing the nose up and reducing speed would cause drones to return quickly.

Pointing the nose down during a turn would cause a moderate and expected drift.

Now, however, drones appear to drift more than usual, although they still respond to input. The rate of drift seems slightly faster, and the time it takes for them to return to default position appears longer than before.

In one instance, while performing a 180-degree stall turn, I observed a B-24 drone turn in the opposite direction of the lead plane. It ended up drifting 3–5 times the distance that would normally result in it being destroyed, yet it remained intact.

This behavior was observed on the Europe map, though I’m not sure if it’s specific to that terrain or a broader change. If HiTech has made an intentional adjustment to drone behavior across all maps, I have no issue with that—I just wanted to bring it to attention in case it’s unintentional or isolated to this particular map.

More than likely it's just some rust you need to brush off in regard to perceptions.

Although that is a reasonable explanation I have taken extended breaks longer than I have this month and the drones remained the same.

Something changed. Almost as if the drift factor in B24s and B17s is the same as B29s has always been  :salute

Im not complaining im just stating an observation. This subtle change is much like how the gun accuracy changed a few years ago from lazer beams with no spread to what it is today. I have video evidence of this in my youtube videos.

Zubb experienced a similar issue tonight on ETOMA, however his was his lead plane cruising at about 1000 ft  higher his drones. I was  gunning for him a the time. I have no explanation for it. Maps have no relation to Aircraft flight profiles, that I'm aware of.

CC Kenai77 I hate to be the only source so its nice that someone else is confirming an anomaly with drone behavior. As obsessive as I get flying bombers in this game I notice even the slightest changes. Not trying to start another bbs fuss just sharing observations :salute

This game has so many different aspects, functions, reactions and interactions, it is all ways appropriate to ask questions and share observations. No one knows it all, no one sees it all.  :rock
