I'm pretty sure AI is going to suck the life out of everything.  :bolt:

Our drummer is Nashville session player. He told me that AI is all the producers and other musicians are talking about at sessions now. How people who do stuff for commercials, TV and stuff like that are going to be out of a job

Probably right.
However, its worse, AI only knows what was already done. It’s going to cause a lot of copyright law suits for stealing material, as shown in vid.

Unleashed AI will be nothing but trouble on many levels.

We were having this discussion on my forum ( copyright stuff/Ai learning)

I disagree that Ai is copying anything. I also disagree that Ai should be penalized or restricted because it's "learning" off off published music. When Ai is listening to music and learning, that's no different that what humans do and have done since forever.

There are probably already millions of Ai songs on Spotify and they don't get flagged for copyright because they are original works.

Ok well. To each their own.
But yes many suits are over “original material” that won because they stole a rythem too much like another song. We’ll see

I wonder how we see them in concert.

I won’t patronize it.

Never used Spotfy, never will. I’m good with SiriusXM

I don't like Spotify or Ai music. Just stating facts

All music is derivative. There's only a very few chords and chord progressions used over and over again in popular music. Ai is creating original works. Not saying I like any of it.

I can't stand Spotify. Don't use it. But it's the main player in music so our band releases to it. I hate them, actually.

Ya I just don’t put apps on my phone unless I really need them.
Totally get releasing music everywhere ya can.

IMO, AI is made for people too lazy to think. Which IMO incites a weak mind.. And the way some read story titles but not the story, or conspiracy therapist, better yet music, fall right into it. It tells you anything you want to hear, dies all the thinking for them.

So a guy can use it to write lyrics and music, learn the song and say they wrote it.

I actually use it for very specific things, but it just seems like it can be pure poison.

Ai = I gave up on thinking on my own.

I get your point tho

Ai songs are usually horrible, but they can be pretty good songs. What's horrible is how some people use it.  People with zero musical talent think they're writing songs because they prompt Ai to make something. It's just taking music further down the toilet.

That being said, I'm not opposed to Ai. I think it's a powerful tool in many areas - but I don't like when people think they're creative or songwriters when all they do is prompt Ai to create something out of thin air for them - but as a tool, I think it's good to have it for creating music. I know someone who puts Ai soundtracks to his horror short films, and they sound great. It fills a purpose. It allows him to create his movies with a soundtrack and not have to pay for songs or musicians ( and it's just his hobby). So that's cool. And the music it makes really fits and sounds great.

On the other extreme is a friend who sent me a song. "Look what my friend wrote!"  I listened and I'm like .... did she wrote that? "no, but she told Ai what to do" Did she sing it? "No. It's AI" .  Well, that is BS. She didn't do a thing and is acting like she created a song.

Spotify is horrible and I can't wait for the day they get sued or regulated out of business.

Ya you made my point.
We already have talentless noise makers. AI will make it even less authentic
