Guys,
I need some help.
I recently was gifted a 40 inch Samsung 1080p 60hz TV. I am trying to use it for aces High. I have been using a view sonic vx2476 series monitor at 1080p 60 hz.
With the view sonic 2476 the frame rate pegs at 60 and never varies and looks great.
With the Samsung the frame rate runs about 30 to 35 and looks like crap most of the time. One of the biggest problems is I cant read the text buffer.
Here is my set up:
Predator Helios 300 gaming laptop
Intel core I7 9th generation
Nvidia Geforce RTX2060
Something isn't right here, what adjustments are needed?
Any ideas?
Thanks

Here's a couple things you might want to try.
1. Use the Right Connection
HDMI or DisplayPort is preferred over VGA for sharper digital signal.
Make sure your laptop supports the resolution and refresh rate (1920x1080 at 75Hz).
2. Set Native Resolution
On Windows: Settings → System → Display → Select monitor → Set resolution to 1920x1080.
3. Adjust Scaling
If text looks blurry, adjust scaling:
Windows: Try 100% or 125% under Display Settings.
4. Enable ClearType (Windows only)
Search for ClearType Text in the Start menu.
Follow the wizard to fine-tune text rendering.
5. Use ViewMode Presets
The VX2476 has built-in modes like Text, Web, Movie, and Game.
Access via monitor’s on-screen display (OSD) menu and choose the one that suits your task.
6. Check Refresh Rate
Set to 75Hz if supported:
Windows: Settings → Display → Advanced display settings → Choose 75Hz.

In my gaming laptop I have to make sure it's using the 4070 card and not on board graphics..but that shouldn't have changed with just a monitor swap..
Does the Samsung have a gaming setup/port?

Make sure the monitor is set to proper resolution and refresh rate.
Changing the refresh rate higher than designed it will just dump the extra frames, or crash the monitor.
Sounds like somewhere the resolution output is not right for the monitor. Sounds like its running a lower res.
Also, go in vid card settings and make sure it recognizes your monitor and its output to it
Once you figure that out, and its clean, you may be able to disable V-Sync on you vid card settings. If so, also look for Max frame rate and set that to something like 80

I use a 55” 4K TV and I have to cap the FPS at 60 per the limit aid the tv if I want the crisp clean, clear picture at the 3240 resolution. I can drop it to 1920 and get 120 fps but it looks like crap to me.
